This is a large and very aggressive trowel. Very solidly built and should hold up for many years as long as it’s properly taken care of.

I'm extremely impressed with this hand digger and have used it for metal detecting almost daily. I'm 6', 250lbs and we have extremely dense clay soil in the area where I live. Even after putting all my weight to leverage a rock or metal detecting find out of a hole, this hand digger doesn't flex at all.It's not the lightest tool in the world, but it's strength and rigidity well offset any extra ounces. The handle grip is huge and comfortable, and the handle guard is big enough to where I can actually put decent downward pressure on it, just like the footpads of a shovel.I sharpen all of my digging tools, and this was no exception, but it even performed fairly well cutting through roots right out of the box. I do recommend sharpening it further, but you could get by without it if you had to - I dig around a lot of tree roots and it helps to have a good sharp edge. In some cases, I've even used it like a rudimentary hatchet to chop through stringy tree roots near the river, and it works just fine.I was looking for something similar to the old White's hand digger, and while never having owned one of those, I have to imagine this is pretty close. I have not been easy on it, but it's held up like a champ. I highly, highly recommend it.

It’s a solid scooper for sure. Comfortable, good gauge metal only downside is the stealth. It’s flimsy but for the price you can’t go wrong with this unit
