Q: Is there a big difference in the black pearl and the Oyster? And which stylus is cheeper to replace?

I haven't heard or used the Oyster, but I do own and use both the Black Pearl and the Pearl. The Oyster uses a 0.6 mil conical stylus, and tracks at 2.3g. The Black Pearl's stylus is 0.5 mil and tracks at 2g. Doubtless the replacement stylus for the Oyster costs less than that for the Black Pearl. IMHO, you need to spend the extra $20 for the Black Pearl, and enjoy an undoubtedly higher quality cartridge with undoubtedly better sound. You just need a decent turntable, with a decent arm. A used SL1200 in good condition ought to fill the bill just fine. JT.

Q: Will the black pearl accept the better elliptical sumiko pearl stylus?

I own and use both, and, just looking at them, it appears that they will. Best call the nice people at Sumiko to make sure. If you give in and go ahead and try it, the styli on both can be a little difficult to remove. Sometimes they won't pull straight out. You may have to VERY CAREFULLY apply VERY SMALL amounts of force at slightly different angles than straight out. Sometimes the little brass colored metal extension that goes up inside the cartridge body hangs up on the way out. JT.
