Great product overall and easy to install. We chose these locks for our windows that are approx 20' above the ground in our children's play room. We didn't want the other styles that block the view and we don't really open these windows very often. Even with the locks installed, we can "crack" the windows open about 1-2" max and still prevent the children from fully opening them. With 4 kids 9 and under, these locks give us peace of mind that they won't mistakenly be opened, forgotten and our toddler fall out.Special Notes:1. Tricky part, don't snap on the white covers till you are ready, they are difficult to remove.2. If you have newer windows and they are under warranty, you may void your warranty if you drill into the frames. Ours are 20 years old so we aren't concerned.3. The framing next to our window has drywall so we used longer wood screws for the wall mount portion instead of the shorter self tapping metal screws in the package.4. For safety reasons, we left a key to the lock in a nearby closet on a hook that all the adults know about.

This is the second set (of two) I purchased. I was pleased with the first two. I just finished installing the last of the second set. I inserted the locking lug into the lock, locked it, then began to open the window to test the allowable window gap in the open position. With absolute minimal force, mind you, the cable came free of the crimp. It fell right out. I now question the integrity of the other 3 and have lost confidence in their ability to prevent my son from falling to his death. This is a pretty egregious safety failure, it's blatantly obvious there is no quality control. In fact I might just replace them all. Unfortunately I purchased these ~3 months ago so am unable to return them. Very dissatisfied considering the cost.

I’m using as a door restrictor to keep a toddler from getting out of the door unsupervised. We have a autistic grandchild who can open the door so we wanted something simple to use to safely keep her inside. Works great

I purchased this to lock up my expensive bird feeder on my front porch after someone stole my other feeder. The cable was not very flexible, so it took me some time to screw it into the support beam the way I wanted, but I am using it for a different purpose than what it is actually intended for. I will say, though, it is very sturdy and well made. Nobody will be stealing my bird feeder now!

Item was well packaged and got here quick ! I read a couple of reviews that commented on the install instructions but it looked like exactly what we needed so I took a chance. The package includes a link to the online install instructions, but you don’t really need them. There are 4 screws and 4 holes. The install was drop dead simple. Very happy with the result, solid connection and looks great !

This works as intended, it securely fastens to window frame, and only allows it to be opened a few inches, so we can have fresh air in our house without worrying about our autistic child wandering off and being hit on the road. It came with no instructions though, and it took a bit to figure out how to install it, but it was worth it.

Works fantastic. My father in law has Alzheimers and we use these on our outward swinging doors.
