Q: What product will stiffen the wide all around brim on a straw hat?

Thank you for your inquiry. This product is a straw hat cleaner, not a straw hat stiffener. We also stock a hat stiffener but that is for felt hats, not straw hats. Straw hats are stiffened prior to the hat being shaped. If your hat was originally stiff when new you can enhance the straw to more of its original condition by applying steam to the hat. Be very generous with the steam. Then reshape the hat and let it dry thoroughly. The original stiffening agent that is in the hat will be reactivated to a certain extent. Tina Village Hat Shop

Q: Would this product help condition a super dry straw hat ??

Thank you for your inquiry? This product is to clean straw hats. If your hat is just dry, take it into the bathroom when you take a shower and let the steam from the shower, (don't take hat IN the shower of course), pour on the hat. Steam will moisten the hat. Follow these instructions for cleaning: Manufacturer Instructions for Use: Always check for colorfastness in a hidden area before using. Shake bottle well before using. Remove surface dirt with a soft brush. Pour a small amount of NuStraw on a soft moist sponge. Rub the spot in a circular motion from the center out. Wipe the area clean with a clean, damp cloth. Q: Can this product be used on paper straw/toyo straw hats?

We've used it on all our straw hats but I'm not sure if they were paper. You'd probably want to test a spot.
