Traditional French Sponge Cake St. Michel Madeleines 8.8oz

My friend had similar cakes at a chain coffee shop and was looking for ones similar. I saw these on Amazon and got that for her as a surprise. They were so good the problem was the bag was too small. SHe really enjoyed their slight lemony taste and soft cake like texture. She said they went very well with tea. They were an exceptional dessert.

I wanted Madelines, not mini cakes. Tiny loaves. Looks like pound cake. Very dry. If you want Madeline cookies choose a different product. Disappointed.

I was initially disappointed when they first arrived and tried them. They were not as moist and tender as I had hoped. The texture was a little coarse and grainy. The taste was decent but nothing special. But after eating it a few times, I decided to heat them up in the microwave oven first for 8-10 seconds until they were warm. I wasn't expecting any great transformation......BUT WOW! IT WAS LIKE NIGHT AND DAY! These little nuggets now suddenly tasted soft and moist and tender inside. The texture became totally different! No graininess or coarseness at all! The taste has been transformed as well! They now tastes a lot like BUBBLE WAFFLES! Especially the texture. Soft and tender. WOW! Instead of disappointment, I am now ordering more of it again and recommending it to others. Did I mention Wow?!!! HAHAHA!

Very good sponge cookie for coffee & tea. Great for after dinner. A little bit pricey.

This batch was not baked to the usual standard. The inside is too dense while the outside is too dark. The bag packaging causes the individual cakes to break and crumble.

Delicious! Great flavor, but very dried out! Don’t think it was the brand’s fault just think by the time it got to me it wasn’t as fresh.
