Cut your pattern in advance
Definitely need to lay this out in the sun or warm room.. no issues with backing coming off as others mentioned. I used painters tarp paper to cut the pattern. Get extra roฤบl because there's a lot of waste. Boats are not square if you want groves to line up. Clean your floor prior and then use acetone to wipe down the surface. I sprayed 3m heavy duty adhesive to boat surface and long the edges.. use acetone to clean up any overspray immediately. If you have a long area a 2nd pair of hands is needed. There's more expensive decking you can buy about triple the price but this is my 2nd boat using this material and it has held up well. Will see if this has the same endurance. It feels very nice on your bare feet and much better than carpets.

Material feels great under foot!
Hubby requested this for his Gheenoe project. He needed 2 rolls for this application in the pic. He stated the install started out slow but after getting the right tools for the job (a straight edge blade such as an Exacto Knife, a metal straight edge and a small rolling pin) things went much faster and cuts looked much better. It appears to have adhered really well but only time will tell on that. We keep the boat in the garage so the material is not exposed to the elements except for when we take the boat on the water. I can attest to the material feeling great under foot and working great while fishing from the bow of the skiff. The color combo works really well for the look of the boat. Happy with this purchase. Will update as time goes by on this.

Not good for areas that get Sun
I installed the red on the swim deck of our boat. Within weeks it has faded to pink. All the edges started to curl up. I also installed some at the helm position ( this area never gets the sunlight) it has been fine for over a year. So my advice is to use only in areas that are sheltered from the sunlight.

It's a good short-term deck
It looks fantastic, and right away improves the look and padding of my boat. However, after about a year it was noticeably thinner and less comfortable. After a year and a half, the top layer is worn away in most places. This is used on the bow deck, where it has almost no foot traffic. Only used for seating. The adhesive is fantastic.... but now that is a problem trying to remove the frail foam.

Looks Nice, BUT......
This stuff looks great and feels great to walk on, but if you install it in a boat that you actually use, be sure you have a lot of left over glue. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, but I wish I had known that even with the commercial grade glue I used that the seller suggested, combined with the adhesive it comes with, this flooring is almost impossible to keep down in an active boat. I find myself spraying more glue after every boat outing. I'm verging on just calling it a day and using industrial strength 2-part epoxy!! You get what you pay for.

Works, definitely light duty but sticks right on and looks clean.
Did a small section of repaired floor in my 1987 Sea Ray and it turned out well. I got a bit off center when applying it and let me tell you it STICKS. The foam is a bit lighter than I had hoped for but seems like it should hold up for a few seasons at a minimum. Definitely not super super durable but passable for the price.

Beware - product good - reimbursement not so good!!
Buyer be sure you order just what you need for your project because if you need to return any unopened flooring you first pay for shipping & the company, not Amazon, will reimburse. Well I have been trying to get reimbursement for several weeks and through numerous emails. Iโve provided information to pay using two different apps and PayPal and still no reimbursement. I was given a phone number the other day to call a supervisor but that number goes directly to voicemail and after several calls & messages I have yet to get a return call. This company is located in Georgia with a Georgia phone number...... My reimbursement is approx $41.00 which is no small potatoes but not life changing either.... but I want my money! The product itself appears to be a good fit for our boat. Easy to cut, lay, & clean up, hopefully the โstickyโ holds up in Arizona summer heat!!UPDATE: soon after posting about the refund hassle I was contacted by an individual and received my refund!
