A fun read for any marvel universe fan!
The illustrations in this book are fantastic and it was a hit with my kids. A good buy for the money!

Adorable, with a good moral
Please don't listen to the other reviewers who say this book is depressing. It really isn't, and it provides a good lesson that not every day starts out as great as we want it to be. Anyone can have a bad day, even superheroes like Spider-Man and a master sorcerer like Doctor Strange. However, there are so many ways to find adventure and learn new things about the world around us. The story is great, and the pictures are adorable.

Honestly not a great book
There's something weird about the book, it's disjointed. I never write reviews about kids books by the way but thought I'd advise, buy something different!

Writing was horrible for children’s book
The book is terrible for children. The characters are not introduced properly, it assumes they have seen the movie. Sentences seem to run on and it reads very boring. Has attempts at humor but it is pathetic. On positive note, the art style was okay for young readers. Author is terrible and shouldn quit writing books for children.

What is the point of this book? Sending it back
This book is awful. I bought it because there were positive reviews, & I thought the artwork looked cute & engaging. Instead of an exciting adventure, Spider-Man is down & depressed & takes a walk through a bizarre building with a rat filled basement & a portal. Lots of weird symbolism. I couldn’t get my son to even sit through listening to the entire thing. And my older son’s husband all agreed, they hated it too. It’s confusing & boring, & not at all what I thought it’d be. And because I bought it for Christmas, it’s outside the send back date. Super frustrating.

It's depressing
The book starts out with page after page of negativity. Terrible book for a young kid. Why would I read this with my grandson? Spider man is his hero. Will either return it or burn it.

Amazing Illustrations, non-existent story/plot
I wanted to love this book. The illustrations are amazing, and the colors are vibrant, but the story is lackluster and not at all age-appropriate (not because of content themes but rather because there's not a cohesive story/plot to carry you through the book). For a book that is aimed at young learning-to-readers, this lack of cohesive story-telling is very confusing for children and disappointing for parents, who like me, are likely fans of the Marvel cinematic universe and excited about the prospect of sharing that interest with their children. The only two named characters in the book are Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, so for parents (or grandparents) unfamiliar with the movie/Spidey-verse, good luck! as there are a lot of questions about people in the book you won't be able to answer. Spider-Man also spends a considerable portion of this book unhappy (without a real explanation if you're not familiar with the movie) and my daughter kept asking me page after page (and in an increasingly concerned/upset manner) why Spider-Man was so sad and unhappy. The allusion to the reason via the corresponding illustration is too abstract a concept for most children ages 3-5 (the target demo of this book). This is a problem that persists throughout the book.

Great message
I don’t know why someone said this book is depressing. We all have bad days and it’s a reminder of when you do go out and explore something new! There’s a new fun adventure right around the corner. Loved the bright cheery colours and the ending has a wonderful message about home.
