If you are into brief, solution focused therapy, give anything that Presbury writes a chance. Use highlighter and read actively so sleep doesn't get to you. His points are great, his heady academic language is unnecessary. Presbury would do well to read someone that knows how to reach a wider audience. Jeffrey

Used as textook for doctorate program; excellent keeper of resource. Easy to read and very brief with exclamations and examples. Good choice for counselors in education, and those who are active therapist in the social work field.

Excellent book that provides invaluable information!

Great book, I have read, re-read it again and will continue to do so long after other books are given away.. Explains the theory behind brief/solution counseling, as well as many practical techniques in a realistic and fairly succinct manner. I especially enjoy the expansion of several theories that struck me as both pragmatic and intuitive. Despite its' small price, it is one of my most valuable references. And great value!!

This was the text for a class on brief psychotherapies that I had at the doctoral level. It was an easy read and very informative, including techniques and tools that I could immediately implement with my clients. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in the brief approach to counseling.
