The texture of the scales is lovely and the strong and sturdy construction of the handle means this jug will last a lifetime. I use mine as a flower vase and enjoy the gurgling sound of the jug when I change the water. I recommend ordering the extra large which is actually the standard size. Only order the "large" size if you want something small to use as a knick-knack. It is a conversation starter to be sure and looks wonderful on the granite countertop in my new farmhouse kitchen! I ordered the jug in white... versatile in every room!
