Excellent
The media could not be loaded. This belt is oversized for the pulleys on my 9x20 lathe but let me tell you, I put a 6” 3 jaw chuck on the lathe and it works great! No squealing, I can do all operations including threading. Very easy to splice together, I use a heat gun and it’s strong. I have a more powerful lathe with less money than the original belt. Can’t wait to use it on a tool post grinder.

Great fix when no one makes the belt you need.
I couldn't find the two 20" narrow belts I needed for a 1950s Black & Decker valve grinding machine. I purchased both the 6 & 8 mm belts. Both work, but wish they made this in 7mm. Following the directions, these are very easy to melt together and I tugged pretty hard and couldn't pull them apart. I used a soldering gun with a round flat attachment to heat both ends of the belt at the same time. Quickly, I mated both ends in a V-block which perfectly aligned the joint. Then I used a bench grinder to grind the joint flush. We shall see how long this belt lasts. If you can't find the right size belt for your application, this is a cheap fix. I would purchase again.

Awesome!!
This stuff is incredible. If you have machinery or like to tinker forget V-belts just use this. So simple to join I use a propane torch and melt both ends then hold them tightly together til it cools then that’s it you’re done. If you don’t like the size cut it and do it over.

Great stuff!!
I got lucky when I found this. I have a number of antique player-pianos and arcade machines. One of the pianos has a belt that drives the roll, and it was just getting worn out from many years of use. It is made out of thick, round leather and I was having no success looking for a replacement. The closest thing seems to be leather belt meant for Singer sewing machines, but this is a fair amount too thin. This stuff is amazing. You just cut it to length, melt both ends with a lighter and push them together until they harden. I was Leary at first that it would hold up, but it is unbelievably strong. At first, I cut it just a little too long, but it was so easy to cut about a half an inch off and reattach it. I'm sure this will be useful for other things later. It's available in different thicknesses and also either smooth or rough. The rough style seems to be perfect for this application, so it won't slip when in use.

How well it stays together
So far I am pleased with this product, I used it to fabricate a belt for a 70 year old metal lathe. With all the belt manufactures making it difficult to know the actual belt length. This product makes it easier to get a machine running again, also saves time and effort just installing a belt.

Rubbing vs leather 6mm1/4 inch belting
The surface texture of the rubber has a rough texture which supplies extra grip on the pulleys of a Singer29lk70 sewing machine. The old leather belt was worn and Burnished to much to get a grip on the pulleys w/o over torquing tension on the pulleys’s bearings. 👍👍Had to still use the metal staple to link the ends of the belt though 👎 PIA

Works good for my chainstitch machine
Upgraded myChainstitch machine with a servo motor and this belt worked perfectly after cutting to size and welding together.

Tried to use on Thumbler's Tumblers
The belt material fuses beautifully using the "shaft", not the tip, an old soldering pencil. Unfortunately I believe the small pulley on the tumbler motor causes a bend that exceeds the minimum diameter recommended & the belt breaks after a few dozen hours of use. The heat of the motor, which normally runs hot to the touch, adds to quickly further weakening.
