Make Your Own Inuksuk (Wow Canada!)

Since I first knew what they were I have been fascinated by Inuksuks. I have a lot of stones on my property.But what pleased me is how quickly the book came. Working for a library, to see a book recycled is so good to see. Thank you! Can't wait to share it with my grandson.

This book covers everything from "what is an Inuksuk?" , to Adhesives, Stones, Why build one?, Communication ( Messages in stone), and Respect in 32 easy to read pages. Since it is about making your own Inuksuk, there are many photos of small ones (in size and number) made with different material.Personally, I would have liked to see a comparison to other rock formations, as some of the photos seem more like what I know as "cairns".

I purchased this book to use during our study of various continents, to give ourselves a North American project to do. (I am a homeschooling parent). The book will work for that purpose. I was hoping that it would have a little more information on the use of the Inuksuk, with examples of people using them historically. Some of the other parts on how to put one together could certainly have been condensed to allow room for more history and culture. Nonetheless, it is an appropriate activity for my first grader, and a good stepping stone to get her looking into the culture with other resources.

It's fine as a kid's book. I was hoping for a little more depth. It tells kids how to build a little inuksuk, but it feels more like a crafts project than a real lesson in the culture, tho it provides some brief introduction to the historical and traditional use of inuksuit for purposes other than garden decor.

My son became fascinated with inuksuk after doing a report on inuit culture for 5th grade social studies. I bought it as a potential resource for an art project. We didn't end up making an inuksuk for ourselves, but we may still! And now we have the resource.

Cool book. Cool history. Good condition. Arrived quickly. Happy with the purchase and the seller. My kids and I will make som Inuksuks based on the instructions in the book for our front yard. Very informative about the history of them and how to make them.

Fabulous book for an adult or child who wants to make an Inuksuk!

This was and is a great book to find out about inuksuks and how to build them. My sons always left small ones wherever we went after reading. this book. Would recommend it to anyone
