Multi-function Laser printer/copier/scanner (KX-MB2000)
I really like this multi-function unit. It only takes a few seconds after turning it on for it to be ready for printing. Hard copies come out fast. The scanner function works well too. I like that the unit is networked so that I can scan (and print) from any PC on my home network. The scanner quality is good. The copy function works great too. The copy comes out with good contrast. Some reviewer complained about the toner consisting of two parts. I like this design, since the toner and the imaging drum can be replaced separately, and it is not that difficult to put the two parts together, since the instruction is pretty clear.I also like that the toner cartridge has a knob on the side that allows it to open so that I can refill it myself with a toner refill kit. You can find the toner refill bottles on the eBay for this printer. I already saved over 50% in cost of refilling the toner, instead of buying a new toner cartridge. Finally, I like the compact form factor. Considering all of the laser-based multi-function units I researched, this was the most compact one that I could find. It fit perfectly in the slide-out printer shelf in my PC armoire desk. So, overall a great product, I highly recommend it. I got it on sale for $79 here, so the price was great too.

Easy setup, great print quality, very satisfied
I bought this printer because both of my current printers started giving me trouble (an Epson Workforce 610 and a Brother 7820N). My past experience with home printers has been problematic and even with Windows 7 I've had quite a few problems using network printers on my [very stable] home network. So when my Brother laser printer (bought in the fall of 2009) began exhibiting increasingly sporadic network issues, I decided to go with a change. I've had great luck with other Panasonic products but was genuinely concerned when I read a few of the rather negative reviews of this printer on Amazon. As it was attractively priced I decided to go with it anyway. The printer was delivered ahead of schedule and was a breeze to set up. As others have noted, the one-page instruction sheet is a bit cryptic, but follow it and then install the supplied CD and go from there. It was literally the easiest network installation I've ever experienced. The print speed is fast and the quality is great.I've now installed the printer on two other computers on my home network and it works great on all three. So far, so good! I'll be sure to update this review in about a month with any further observations. Right now I'm extremely pleased with this purchase.

Don't Buy If You. are Running Windows 8
This product was advertised to be compatible with Windows 8. The install software stopped at windows 7. I knew at that point I was in trouble. After searching the web for an hour, I called Panasonic CS who talked me through a variety of sub menus, with the alleged drivers listed under a fax driver sub heading (this machine has no fax function). I downloaded these and twice tried to run with my computer, both times causing computer to severely malfunction. I returned the product to Heartland, a good vendor who promptly returned the initial cost & shipping, although I ended up paying $30.00 (UPS) to ship it back. Although this seems to have the possibility of being a nice, inexpensive multifunction device (no fax), it gets 1 Star for the following:1. Although purported to be compatible with Windows 8, no W8 install software included2. The Panasonic website is terrible to navigate, their CS isn't much better. Why would you look for printer drivers under a fax machine heading, when this machine has no fax function?3. Drivers Panasonic recommended didn't work. For lack of a more appropriate description of how it interfaced with my computer (Dell XPS 8700/Windows 8.1 OS), it was almost like the computer was "convulsing" as it tried to boot up with this printer on. I was afraid I was doing permanent damage to my computer4. It's apparent this printer is an old model that Panasonic has attempted to "Jerry-rig" some W8 drivers for so they can continue to push them out the door. They obviously don't work.

great value for the money
Installed with no problem as a network printer. On one computer I installed the bundled software, and on the other just let Win7 find the drivers. Both methods worked fine.Printing works great, really fast, good quality. Copying is also fine.Scanning is a bit annoying. I mostly used the Scan to SMB (file) share feature. It works, but each time you need to go through some menus on the the printer. Scanning in color and with higher quality settings is rather slow. The bundled software looks kind of 90s, but you don't have to use it. The OCR program (Cooliris) isn't very good.Still, for just over $100? Great deal!

get what you pay for
This printer does its job but doesn't last very long. I have had 3, each lasted around a year. Each suffered the same malfunctioning drum. But that cost about $30 more than buying a new printer. That is why I have had three. I have since upgraded to a all in one unit that has a feeder and allows for multiple page scanning a feature that this printer does not have and can be a real time saver if you need to scan in more than a page or two or would want to save multiple pages as a single file.

problems with tooner
I had a problem putting in the toner, it came as 2 parts. And i had to put them together. When i was doing that, the ink spell out and made a big mess. I just want a printer easy to operate, i'm not good at mechanical things. As far as the function of the printer, it's not so bad. I don't use mine that much because I still have to fix ink problem.I had a samsung before and the toner was very easy to put in.

Good solid laser printer
Good solid laser printer, I have it for 3+ years now.I used it both on the network cable and now on USB cable, now that I moved my router to another location.I did have some problems with the drivers on Mac, but the drivers are maintained and new versions are released often. One other thing I don't like is the paper holder that you have to mount in front. It makes the printer too big and it's easy to hit by mistake.
