Good directions provided so the emergency radio is easy to set up. Volume can be controlled so it will alert you to any weather emergencies based on how you set it up.Easy to see to set up. Radio is small enough to fit on side table in hallway close to bedrooms.

This is easy to set up. Ive had a tornado warning on this before and a severe thunderstorm warning too and it really let's me know when their is gonna be bad weather.

Works good, but I have a stucco covered house and it is difficult to get reception. Would need to add an external antenna. Works good out i garage or camper. Easy to set up and use.

It is very loud and should wake anyone up in the deepest sleep, it does really well with getting you the weather it has an option for batteries so if you need to unplug it and take it with you to your shelter you can. It is pretty easy to program all you need to know is what you local weather radio station is

Best weather radio I've ever had. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews as I have never had major issues over the past several years. Would just assume that people are not setting it up right. My old weather radio started going out but it lasted so long that it is honestly pretty impressive. Just got my new one and its even better. I guess the only complaint is buzzy sound quality when its turned up pretty high, but its nothing that I care much about. Would highly recommend this product for everyone to have in their homes

a few glitches on the set-up as far battery vs. plug-in but now we realize we have to keep it plugged in all the time or the batteries don't keep it running. Not sure if this is a flaw on this particular radio?? We had one while I was growing up that ran on battery only which was better. The instructions are not the best to follow. We had to do some on-line research to figure it out, but I really like getting an instant weather report read to me anytime I want and the alerts will get you up & moving!

If there is one thing which we hope for is Dependability when we order an item. This radio started out fine. I do recommend reading the user guide and then programing is a breeze. At first I did not keep the radio on continuously (which I will do now) and it worked fine. Then one day I turned it on and nothing. I reprogrammed it - still nothing (I repeated the steps three times). I truly figured I was out of luck and then I thought, maybe I should check the warranty status. Come to find out, I was within the time period. So I sent an email to Midland support (with details of every step I took) and NEXT DAY a very nice person replied. The first thing she wrote was "Oh course we will honor the warranty." All she needed was a receipt. I sent it immediately. The next day after my first email, I received a shipping order receipt for a replacement. I truly have not gotten such quick, positive, no-nonsense (like check the power cord, shake it, etc...like other companies) I was honest on what happened and Midland took care of the rest. As you can guess I am very happy. I can't recommended Midland enough, I give them 10 stars. You should know before I brought this I DID research and everything said Midland Emergency Radio was the Best. Even though the radio stopped working, these things happens. But when it comes to Dependability, Midland Support, your in good hands and this is what we all hope for.

Me tardé en escribir una reseña porque no podía dar mi opinión sin verlo funcioonar. Han pasado ya dos sismos desde que lo compré y la alarma comenzó a sonar al mismo tiempo que la de la calle (es decir, antes de que llegara el sismo). No se escucha el sonido "oficial" de alarma sísimica de México, es sólo una alarma muy escandalosa, pero es perfecta para alertarnos y despertarnos si es necesario. En una ocasión sonó sin que hubiera alarma sísmica, por lo que me puse a investigar y aprendí a configurarla correctamente. En los tutoriales que hay en YouTube dicen que la programes con "ALL" en tipo de alarma, pero eso es incorrecto. A veces envían señales que no son de sismo y por eso suena y en la pantalla dice "alarma desconocida", pero cuando fue por sismo la pantalla decía "alarma de terremoto". Configuré el radio para que no sonara con alarmas de tipo desconocido ni con alarmas de tipo tormenta o huracán porque no es lo que buscaba, y ahora suena sólo con la alarma de terremoto. Muy recomendada. Es muy importante que la coloques en un lugar en el que reciba el canal de transmisión lo más limpio posible (se escucha una voz dando datos varios) y que elijas el canal que más clara tenga esa señal y acomodes la antena donde menos ruido perciba. Yo la instalé en una pared pegada a la ventana de nuestra recámara y extendí la antena a lo largo de todo el cristal. Así me ha funcionado perfectamente. Además funciona con baterías y con corriente eléctrica, lo que la hace segura aún si no hay luz.

I've gotten this item over a month ago for were I live in Ottawa. Item works very well to alert me of severe thunderstorm or tornado watch. The setup for this device was easy right out of the box environment Canada channel are already program for each location on this device. I highly recommend for people that live in an active area to get this best 40$ invested

i paid for this thinking since it has the S.A.M.E. feature it could be programmed to any country but no just within USA or Canada. Worked fine for a couple seconds with batteries in but had to find an adapter and keep it plugged into the wall; if I didn't have an adapter as it comes with the 2 pronged USA charger. The material feels fairly cheap particularly the charging cord and it feels could snap at any moment; the device itself 1. it reminds me of an early 00s CD player you carry around with you, which isn't bad but it doesn't last with the 3x double AA batteries (i tried a couple different ones, brand new) and so i can't really carry around with me and doesn't pick up any of the stations as I am on the other side of the atlantic so if I decided to go to USA to visit my friends or visit my family in Canada I can't even check for potential storms and so on, as even with the antenna doesn't pick up anything, just static and i can't even program with the feature to the region and place I am in 2.when you turn towards you you can't see anything on the display; it has 2 little collapsible legs so it's at an angle but if for example you tried mounting it to the wall you can't see anything. Can't pick up any stations or program it to where I am unfortunately. Tried to see if i could and reading the instructions and watching videos of the same product so I could have a reason to keep it but unfortunately will have to return it.

My younger son really loves this radio and it shipped quickly. The channels are clear and highly recommend it and gives many different types of alerts!!

Excelente producto en el valle de Mexico funciona bien sono en el simulacro solo hay que colocarlo donde la estación transmisora se escuche clara hay varios tutoriales en yuotube para hacerlo.
