Hearing Aid Professionals Should Recommend These!
My 93-year-old dad has excessive wax build-up that's always clogging up his hearing aid. (He wears an over-the-ear style, with a sound tube fitted with a dome that goes in his ear.) To avoid having to take his hearing aid in all the time (sometimes weekly) for cleaning, his hearing aid professional gave me a little cleaning tool - basically a thin plastic "wire" - to clean out the wax in the dome and sound tube, which is what the pro had used when he cleaned them out. However, the sides of the sound tube near the dome were difficult to get really clean, and I thought there had to be something better out there. So I looked on Amazon, found these cleaning brush threads, and figured it didn't hurt to give them a try. They are nothing short of wonderful! Each end of the "thread" has the usual thin plastic "wire", but between the two ends is a cloth-like thread that really cleans out ALL of the wax in the dome and sound tube. You just remove the sound tube from the hearing aid, thread the cleaner through the dome and sound tube, pull it through, and voila, it's super clean! My dad has noticed a big difference after the hearing aid has been cleaned with this thread, vs. just using the cleaning "wire". And, I can easily clean them for him as much as needed. It's a great product. However, it should probably be noted that someone with vision or finger dexterity issues might have trouble using this thread.

Cleans vent channels perfectly
I wear in the ear hearing aids. There is a vent channel that goes from the outer surface to the inner depth inserted into the ear. This is particularly difficult to clear of wax, and wax can completely block the vent channel. When the vent is blocked, heat and moisture can build up inside the ear and a slight vacuum can form which makes removing the aid uncomfortable. These cleaning swabs are the perfect solution. They look like pipe cleaners with a sturdy plastic probe at each end that can be easily inserted into the vent hole and then pulled out the other end completely cleaning out the vent channel. They're just what I needed!

This is what I needed and didn't know it!
I can't say scientifically "this is the best product ever", but it is for me. I think it scrubs out those little, itty, bitty tubes a lot better than some stiff plastic mini-stick. I also bought a blower bulb, which I now think I don't need at all, because the fibers will catch and pull everything and anything out. Some reviewers have complained about the leader ends, they seem plenty long to me, and I have arthritis and a hard time gripping little things. I am able to grip the two ends in one hand, and slide my hearing aid up and down the fibers, every which way, scrubbing thoroughly. I looked at this with a jeweler's loupe, and didn't see any crud on it after cleaning, but I did see a couple of spots where the fibers were matted after use, so it grabbed something! My one and only concern is the quantity, I plan to order several more boxes so I never run out; I wish they came in a bulk pack :) .

Effective tool for keeping hearing aid tubing clean
My son wears hearing aids with a silicone ear piece and tubes to the device behind the ear. He has a lot of ear wax that can clog up the parts and also sometimes will get moisture that forms on the inside of the tube when heโs active in the summer. The audiologist recommended these. We always keep these around at home or when traveling to quickly clear any clogs or moisture. The stiff waxed ends make it easy to quickly thread through small holes and the fluffy material on the string usually gets everything cleaned in one pass. Buying a pack of several boxes is a great value for the money and will last us for a while!

Recent Quality Issues
I prefer the Nanoclean hearing aid cleaners, and even have them on an Amazon subscription, but the quality has been an issue recently. The "Stiff Threader" portion on the cleaners are too short on many of the cleaners in the 20 count package. These are useless and I have to throw them away. I've tried other brands, but they have issues as well. I plan on trying other brands, I haven't tried yet, to see if I can find one without quality issues.
