Arrived damaged but useable.
I bought this because I desperately needed better lighting in a basement area. I wasn't looking for fancy or anything special, just light. This fit the bill as the cheapest standing lamp I could find that would take a 150 watt bulb. When it arrived I was shocked at how tiny the box was. I have bought other (more fancy) lamps and those boxes were HUGE. Anyway... because this had minimal packaging my plastic lampshade arrived with a big crack in it. Had this been for a better area of my house or had I not needed it right away I might have returned it. But as it was, I needed this lamp immediately and I didn't have time to mess with a return. I faced the crack to the wall and just use it. Can't see it too much when I do that. The lamp was super easy to assemble. My lamp stands perfectly vertical. I note some other reviewers had problems with lamps that leaned to one side. That is not a problem for me but I see how any slight imperfection or dent to the poles could cause that to happen. The thing is pretty cheaply made and the parts are in no way heavy duty and the packaging was pretty minimal. If your package arrives with visible damage I'd refuse shipment because there is no way that the lamp wouldn't also have sustained damage.Would I take a chance on this same lamp again? Yes. My goal here was cheap lighting. I felt like the risk was worth it. I was sad about the damage but like I said... it would not be convenient for me to return it. If I got another one and it was broken, yes I might return it if I didn't mind waiting.

Good Lamp
I was looking for a replacement for a CFL torchiere that bit the dust. I really did not want to deal with those stupid CFL ring bulbs again and I wanted a white lamp. This fit the bill perfectly. While it's not exactly heavy duty it does its job admirably. It's small, bright (yea for the three way function), and does not tip.It took about five minutes to remove it from the box and screw the pieces together and pop the bulb in. Everything worked on the first try and has continued to work perfectly the entire six months or so that I've had it.If you have small children or large dogs this may not be ideal since it isn't heavily weighted in the base so it does have the possibility to tip over if they're hanging from it or banging it with a large tail. Also, be aware that if you use an incandescent bulb this does throw off quite a bit of heat, which does make a difference when sitting near it in the warmer months.

Happy With These
I replaced three floor lamps (purchased over 10 years ago from a Swedish blue and yellow furniture store). These Park Madison lamps have similarly weighted bases as my old lamps, but occupy less space on the floor. I am particularly impressed with the cord being threaded through the pole on these. That is such a simple and effective idea that my old lamps did not employ. My old lamps had the cords running on the outside of the pole and clipped on with plastic hooks. The three of these that I purchased stand straight and tall. They do not lean to one side (which is another problem that my old lamps exhibited). These have a three-way switch, and the manual (a sheet of paper) recommends running non three-way bulbs on the highest setting, if you are not using a three-way bulb.My only complaint is that the lamps have some paint chips on the pole, showing bare metal in a couple of spots. Two of the three lamps came this way. With that said, I will be buying more of these lamps. Overall, they are great value and work well.

Nice slim lamp
This is just what I hoped for, which provides overall light to a small hobby room. It's a smooth, glossy-white finish with a smaller base than previous low-end torchiere lamps, so it fits better in the room. Very stable on carpet. The glossy-white finish is smooth, and the plastic diffuser at the top looks nice. I use a 42 watt fluorescent lamp, which gives the output of a 150 watt incandescent bulb. It sticks up a half-inch or so above the diffuser/shade, but the lamp is tall enough that it doesn't show. The assembly was quick, and the cord pulled easily through the tubing, which is an improvement over previous brands, where I had to tug and twist to work the cord through the several tubes and the base. It's probably not suitable for a child's room, since it could be easily toppled, unless positioned in a protected area. This is a functional torchiere lamp, not a decorative item, and that is reflected in the low price. The white finish takes on the surrounding room colors, so it blends nicely with the furnishings.I'll be purchasing a couple more for ambient lighting in my painting studio.

Don't expect anything more
It was very inexpensive and kinda performs as such. Only giving 4 stars because I got exactly what I paid for. It looks pretty good, but feels extremely flimsy. When screwing the pole segments into the base, there is no "tightest" it can go..simply keeps tightening till the screw gets stripped then is completely loose again, so you gotta find the perfect tightness without going too tight. As long as you put i in a corner where it will not be bothered then it is a perfect little lamp. Also it illuminated very well...In the corner of my 550 sq. ft. studio and it lights the entire thing (almost a little too bright with a 150w bulb).

Nice Floor Lamp
Nice lamp for the price. For the living room, it doesn't look as nice as the last one I ordered which looked really nice in my living room, but was defective (Normande Lighting 150W Incandescent Torchiere Lamp, Brushed Steel). Works good, but I do have some suggestions if the company reads my review. The diffuser shade on top could be taller, so that you can't see the top of the light bulb. The switch is hard to turn. It's also a little wobbly. I would also have liked the shade and metal to be a flat matte finish, instead of shiny. That would make it look really nice.

Stylish, Inexpensive, Flimsy
This lamp has a clean minimalist aesthetic that I couldn't find anywhere else. It looks great, but it's a pretty flimsy. The quality of the lamp is fine for the price paid, but it is made of thin and cheap feeling materials. If you have kids, I would recommend something more study, as this thing will topple easily. Otherwise, if you want a cheap but modern looking lamp, this is a good option

Works fine.
Works fine, and looks okay for the price. No problems so far, I suggest using the type / wattage bulb that they tell you, energy-efficient bulbs work fine, but only on and off; Don't work for the second dimness level. Was wary from previous reviews but am satisfied. Just screw the pole together properly.

Decent lighting fixture!
Decent lamp for the price point. Easy to assemble!**Would not recommend for an area unsupervised by an adult if you have young children--can be pulled over quite easily.

Quality is not what I expected, but for the price worth it. It came already cracked, but still works.
