An interesting radioactive item!
I am not sure about their effectivness, I didn't test that. But I did find they contain a radioactive element, thorium. I had bought this out of interest and I can now add them to my small collection of radioactive household objects. They actually emit ElectroMagnetic Radiation from the small amount of gamma radiation from the thorium and it's decay products.
