Didn't feel the Menthol
At 8% Menthol, I expected feeling some serious cooling. But was lower then my BioFreeze at 5%. Expiration on tube is 2024, so not old. Not for me.

IronMan - Mixed Relief
As with any pain relief rub, there are drawbacks – price, scent, effectiveness, texture. No pain relief rub is 100% guaranteed. My mother and I have used:🧴 Ben-Gay🧴 IcyHot🧴 Benalg Hospital Strength (this was a blue, peppermint type scented rub in glass bottle)🧴 Aspercreme🧴 Multiple Off-Brands🧴 Generic VoltarenI’ve even used BioFreeze (which I liked, just not its price tag).As you can see, we’ve used a LOT of sports rubs, lotions, and creams – her for over 36 years, me? About 30 years (car accident in 1990). We’ve also had a LOT of experience. This is one that I am mixed on. I do like it, not the price-tag. It’s a bit pricey for me, especially the way I can go through it.It doesn’t do the cool/hot thing. It does cool, then vanishes. As I used it before bed (knee and hip/sciatica region), I noticed some coolness. I wasn’t bothered by pain, slept well, woke stiff. That’s normal for me. Got to moving with few issues.I did notice some relief, a bit better than most. My mother on the other hand didn’t find any more relief than anything else she’s used. She got better relief with Benalg Hospital Strength. Though that is NEAR-TO-IMPOSSIBLE to find. Her go-to has been either Ben-Gay or IcyHot.To address an issue about needing to wash one’s hands after using this – that is common with all these rubs, lotions, and creams. It is a standard practice as the stuff can cause irritation around eyes, nose, mouth, and other areas of the body. So, yes, you do have to wash your hands immediately after using this product – unless your hand is the reason you’re using it. We also use gloves in addition to washing hands.Overall – this isn’t a BAD product. It just didn’t work for my mom and only moderate for me.

Near-Instant Temporary Sore Muscle Relief
The Medline Ironman ActivICE topical cooling gel is a topical analgesic that's good for temporary relief of sore muscles. It has a pleasant scent, and reminds me of Ben Gay, but with a better scent. It comes in a clear gel form. It has 8% menthol. I used this on sore calves after swimming hard during scuba diving, and after a few minutes, the pain went away. It helped me get to sleep. Great product!

Cooling But Pricey
I recently had an accident and chipped a bone in my ankle, so I've been exploring different topical treatments for pain relief. This is gel is definitely cooling, especially at first. But the effect is short-lived. I also find that its only active ingredient is menthol, and even that is not at an impressive strength. The gel is hard to use, since it melts as soon as it goes from the tube to your fingers and slides off.I am not impressed with this product, and I think it is priced too high.
