Woodland Scenics Static King FS639 and Power Supply FS641 with Make Your Day Curved Tweezers

Works as expected. The 12v power supply makes all the difference. After the disappointing performance of the World War Scenics "Pro Grass Micro", I took a chance and upgraded to this unit. It was able to handle much longer static grass with ease, and I was quickly making my own grass tufts and rows. Some people complain about being "tethered" to a power cord, but face it, you're going to be tethered to the negative lead to use any unit like this anyway, so deal with it! And to the person that left a negative review about this unit because they somehow thought the "jaws" that make up the positive spark generator in the housing on his unit was broken because it's supposed to rotate - it doesn't, nor is it supposed to. If you can afford an applicator of this caliber, this one does what it's supposed to.

Have used static grass applicators from two other, well-known manufacturers. This is now the most reliable, "go-to" applicator that I use. The clear chamber that holds the static grass is beneficial so you can see how much remains when applying. The large LED light band to know when the applicator is powered on is thoughtful (why do others just have a little red dot). power switch is placed for ease of access when applying. Consistent application using up to 6mm fibers; longer fibers have more erratic application and placement.

I really like the ease of use of this product . Very straight forward to a plug and play operation. Wish some more in depth usage video links or manuals would come along with it. Something doesnt seem right with the way the grasses dont stand straight up . Might be the glue I am using or maybe I am not using the machine right . But for what it is and does , I love it !!

Product is good so far. Package was a plastic bag. Tweezers missing but not that was a bonus to have them included so not the end of the world. Must have poked a hole in the plastic shipping bag.

Applied charge is insufficient to "raise" either 7mm or 12mm static grass - and that's using the external 12V power supply! Add to that the 12V power cord is too short. IMO, it's far better (but likely not cheaper) to buy prefabbed static grass "tufts" versus making your own.

I ordered the Woodlands Scenics Static Grass Applicator from this vendor and it arrived with the power supply casing stapled together. The applicator had been pried open and glued back together with glue smudges galore. When plugged in and turned on, the indicator light illuminated however the applicator teeth would not rotate. A completely dead product upon arrival. I recommend avoiding this vendor.
