can i set this on top of my electric stove, the coils are under the stove top but will they be a problem?

Does this cooktop emit a high-pitched noise when operating?

Yes. It shoots up and down the frequency range depending on the set power. I just installed 2 of them. Anyone who says it doesn't emit high frequency is deaf in that part of the sound spectrum. Unfortunately I can't compare to any other units, as this is my first induction stove. ... A gas stove is quieter than this thing, that's for sure. But the noise isn't too bothersome. ... It definitely lets you know it's on, If you're standing across the kitchen.

Are the feet removable? If so, how thick is it without them?

For countertop use, the feet must be installed to allow the fan (located on the bottom of the cooktop) to work properly.
