The thing I like best about this measuring tape is that I can read it. I also love the ability to mark your cuts. It took me a while to figure it out but once I did it's easy. It also goes in and out very easy and when you lock it stays locked. This measuring tape is worth the money. I'm thinking of getting one for my son.

I love the concept but I have a few suggestions for some improvements that would make it the ideal quick measure for me. #1 the plastic housing seems durable but I'm not sure if it will withstand the bangs and drops on the construction site. #2 the locking mechanism doesn't work too well for me. It would seem to be more practical if I could pull out the tape and it would automatically lock/stay in place so I could have make the mark easier. Then I can push/hold the released button to allow it to roll back up. Having to make sure that you locked it on the correct measurement is a hassle, especially when you have to be right over the the tape and not allow your big thumb to block your view while trying to lock it. Or better yet, have some sort of quick lock/hold that down while you mark, and when you release it's free to move. It just the standard thumb lock it's practical here.

This is a great long lasting measureer

I bought this for my mom. She loves it, but has a bit of a hard time using the graphite marker part of it, she says it's hit or miss.Which is a shame because that's the reason I got it for her. But she is happy with the measuring tape part of it, so it's not a totalloss and maybe we'll figure out how to use the graphite marker part eventually.

For a beginner tape is perfect but all the other functions are dumb lol
