It’s a little hard to get the second AA battery in, but with a little help of a small flathead screwdriver and patience, you’ll be able to weasel this in without breaking it. Next, you have to LIFT off the pendulum very gently from where it looks attached to the plastic in order for it to swing.

The first one was defective and second 1 stopped intermittently and had to be banged to get it going again. After a couple of days and numerous bangs, it's finally working. Other than that, we are happy with it so far.

What a mistake to purchase. For $44 they didn't even attempt to at least a "faux" appearance in any way. AND.....it did not work. What a lame product.
