InSinkErator Evolution Select Plus 3/4 HP Compact Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal

My old InSinkErator was beginning like it was on it's last legs so, I ordered another of this same brand and also, a 3/4 HP unit, as well. I opted to leave the mounting ring from the previous unit in place, as there was really nothing wrong with it. The new unit came with a thick sealing ring so, I simply installed the cord and locked it into place. Emerson (the manufacturer) has changed the sealing method on these, in that the seal and the the baffle that fits into the throat of the disposal are now two separate pieces. This makes replacement of the baffle in the future a much simpler task. I wish that they have done this before as this is my third InSinkErator in the 32 years that I have lived in this home. The only negative I can come up with is that this new unit sits up about 1.5 to 2 inches higher than the old one. I had to make a trip to Home Depot to purchase a slip on extension for the drain elbow. I simply glued it into place and all is well. This disposal is unbelievably quiet compared to any of my previous units.

Replaced an existing disposer and kept the existing hardware so it was a quick install. Very quiet... nice unit.

I replaced another cheaper InSinkerator disposal that locked up after only a few years. I will say that I am not the ultimate handyman and am not a plumber, but when our old one failed (while we had COVID) I had no choice but to do it myself. There are tons of online videos to show the process and it was much simpler than I expected.The unit itself is HEAVY. It is no joke. I consider this to be substantial and was the reason I ordered it. I wanted a disposal that would last. The installation was far simpler than expected and was happy with the process as I imagined having to hold it up for a period of time while installing it, all while being contorted to get under the sink. This was not the case, the mounting bracket was simple to install and the unit just clips on and then you finish tightening it up, etc. without having to hold it up the entire time.Operation is very quiet and the normal load of rinsed off plates that we give it is handled quickly and efficiently. I expect this until will last us for a very long time.

I still can't believe the price of this fabulous garburator as it's way lower than the other shops!
