I think this would work except it doesn't unscrew. When the wood doesn't split and i put the drill in reverse, the screw stays in the wood and it unscrews from the shank. Terrible design. I will have to weld the two pieces together.

Absolutely don’t wast your time. This dang thing almost broke my wrist because once it got into the wood, it just “dug in” and didn’t brake a single piece of wood. It’s a joke

POS. Using a Milwaukee Fuel drill. Plenty of power/torque. Gets stuck all the time and very hard to remove from log. Might work on really dry pine or some other soft wood but not on any hard woods. Don’t recommend this product. 👎e

I used my standard 20V Dewalt.I got stuck one inch from edge. Plus, it would damage the brushes if continued use. Also, its hard on your wrist.

Works as intended. Great for small pieces of wood. Definitely need a powerful power drill, otherwise you’re wasting your time and money. Returning it because the bit got stuck in the shank. I could probably get it off, but I don’t want to leave possible tool marks. I’m trying a one solid piece next.
