Very helpful in dry or wet season to water the plants in pots.
The meter work’s very well. All summer I was checking on the moisture levels in pots. It gives correct information about moisture ph and sunlight. In the past we lost flowering plants due to overwatering. This year I use regularly to maintain the above parameters.Easy to read. Well made gadget. Excellent value for your money.

I used this 3-in-1 soil pH/moisture/light meter in my outdoor vegetable and flower gardens. The light and moisture meter functions would probably be more useful for indoor plants, but not so much in my case.I was especially interested in the pH of my soil, which is the bottom of the 3 scales. Being the bottom most scale gives it the lowest resolution of the 3 scales, but accurate enough, in my opinion. The reading confirmed earlier "Rapid Test" style kits where a soil sample is taken, mixed with distilled water and compared to a color chart to determine soil pH.I did 3 tests in each of my gardens.Doing 6 tests using the other method would be tedious in my opinion, and probably take more time.Using this meter takes 10 minutes for each test location, so I spent a little over an hour. Much easier, but maybe a bit less accurate given the pH scale on the meter.I feel this is a useful tool for beinner to intermediate indoor and outdoor gardeners interested in the pH of their garden soil, and moisture and light conditions for their house plants.

I highly doubt the accuracy
I don't think it's measuring light in lux. If you read about lux... Bright light is 50k or more. The fact that this maxes out at 2k makes me doubt it. It's something you can tell in the photos and description, but I didn't think much about it because I trusted a light meter would be accurate and lighting is something I have to sit down and think a lot about since you find information on PAR, lux, lumens, foot candles, etc. When I started testing things and googling needs for each plant I became alarmed. Downloaded a free app to test the light and I unfortunately trust the free app more based on the readings I'm getting from it. Especially since this meter says right next to an east facing window is low light, as well next to a west facing window. Outside it's apparently low light unless in direct sun?None of that makes sense.I question the PH meter too. It's saying all my soil is akaline pretty much. Maybe this is user error... But all my soil is fairly new potting soil. Which tends to run slightly acidic since most plants like that. The first one I tested also was repotted recently and is HEAVILY mixed with peat moss... Which has a pH of 3-4.5. Seems suspicious that it would read at 7. Even after leaving in for 10 minutes. The only thing that I think is probably accurate is the moisture meter.Which was the main reason I purchased this, but had I known the other two things wouldn't work I probably would have tried to find a cheaper option that just measured moisture.

A bit more complicated to use than I expected.
I only wanted to be able to measure moisture level, as in dry or wet. I had another meter that was simpler to use that had a probe attached. This viewable meter portion is smaller and has a dark background which makes it harder to read in certain light conditions. I have to get out glasses to read the small display. It works, just that I hadn't anticipated some difficulties I would need to overcome.

Easy to use
The meter is quite accurate and easy to use. The multi values provides a good indi action of the soil condition. It's great that no batteries are required.

Must have for indoor plant owners
This product is a must have if you’re new to having plants or an experience plant owner. The product doesn’t use batteries so you never have to worry about that. I would say I am a beginner at having indoor plants and have read many articles and watched many videos on how to care for certain plants… one thing I realized was that many people over water their plants which can lead to root rot and basically kill your plants. I followed the instructions for this meter and I found out that my plants were in the green range of moistness so I would skip watering for a day or two. I also tested it in dry soil in my back yard and it does really work. There are also Ph levels and Light levels that are added, but I just needed to see the moisture mainly. But overall, great product to have.
