I think if you would want to keep it on, put it on "after" you come out of your bath or shower & rub it in to spread it ~ just use a little dot for your arms, legs etc. You are going to love love love it! **Q: does it smell like the body wash?** A: Yes. In, fact, if you like the body wash you will love the body conditioner. It's a must have. Paired with the body wash it will leave your skin soft and supple. When I apply the at night, the effects last through the next day and there is no oily residue to stain your sheets. I find the scent to be particularly calming at night. It doesn't smell of lavender, but the calming effect is similar. **Q: Does this product smell like lavender?** A: There is a light lavender scent. **Q: Does this have to be used in the shower and rinsed off or can you use it like a regular lotion and just massage it into dry skin?** A: It should be rinsed off after being rubbed in before bed. GOOD NEWS! With this new Olay Nighttime Rinse-Off Body cleanser with Retinol, I didnt have to spend a lot to get a product that actually works! Ive only used it a couple of times but am amazed at the immediate effects. I have very dry skin & was surprised to feel layers of dead skin rubbing off in the shower after applying the Olay. The scent is clean & pleasant but not overpowering. After drying off (I didn't apply lotion as I usually do because I wanted to observe effects of the Olay with Retinol) my skin feels & looks smoother & appearance of tiny wrinkles are much reduced.
