I bought this for my husband. He love it and so did everyone at the birthday party! I definitely would order this again!

I ordered this cup so that I’d have a period piece to use at a LARP I go to. It arrived well packaged and in great condition. First thing I did was to test it for leaks as some buyers have mentioned. No leak at all. The cup is very lightweight, and the natural horn is a beautiful mix of dark and light colors. It does have a slight livestock scent but that is to be expected as it is real horn. This should go away after a while. I wouldn’t use the cup for at least a week after opening it. Let it air, and then wash throughly a few times. I love that the handle is open so you can hook it on a belt. Also, this thing is large, a true tankard. It is an extremely handsome piece. I purchased mine with fulfillment by Amazon so the quality is great so far. I have yet to use it but will update this review should anything change. You can’t use this drinking horn for a hot drink as I’d hoped, but it seems absolutely perfect for mead, ale or, water. The grip isn’t the most comfortable, especially when filled with liquid, but this is a Viking drinking horn, Vikings wouldn’t care and neither should you. My girlfriend and my LARP buddy were impressed by this drinking horn. Can’t wait for the reactions at the LARP.

This thing is beautiful and a great novelty in that no one has one and it peaks everyone’s interest. Great form, gloss, and finish. Only thing to say about it is that it initially smells like a farm animal, because it came from a farm animal. I smelled the inside and almost polluted my britches in disgust. I turned to the product description to see what was going on but it wasn’t mentioned, so I had to do some research to see what was going and it is completely normal. I had to soak mine in like warm water with soap, DO NOT USE HOT WATER. If you use hot water you can and will deform the cup, heat is what allowed the maker to manipulate the horn and this is about as an organic of a material you can get! After 4 good 48 hour long soaks the smell has gone away and a joy t drink out of!

Very very disappointed. It's beautiful, but my husband only had 3 beers out of his on separate occasions and it started to leak out of the bottom. The natural horn texture is beautiful and I didn't notice a smell like other users mentioned. I thought it would be a bit heavier, but it is not really much heavier than a wine glass, so it seems to be for the more relaxed droning type, which he is, so if you like to drink and are more excitable you might not want this horn. We're really bummed out that it stated leaking after only 3 uses given how expensive it was ($50 after taxes) and how cheap it feels in general. I don't know, I was just expecting something a bit sturdier and more Viking-like. You picture a bunch of burly hairy warriors around the fire in a long house with swords and all that. This thing would get crushed to smithereens in like 5 seconds there. It didn't even last through 3 IPAs and a couple hand washes with organic dish soap by a middle aged dude in pajama pants hanging out in a recliner. Sending it back for a refund.

Our original mug arrived pretty badly scratched. One quite noticeable scratch with many tiny scratches all around. As if it had been used & returned. Our replacement mug arrived the day after I took the bad one to the UPS store! Talk about fast turn-around time! The replacement mug was in very good condition with no scratches. I do realize that due to the fact these items are made from natural raw ox horns, they will have imperfections, but what we originally received was WAY beyond that. Overall very happy with this product and the craftsmanship it takes to make these beautiful items. Our son was VERY HAPPY with it. He had never seen something made like this. He said the handle was very comfortable to hold. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND as a unique gift idea for that “Hard to Buy For” person!

Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. Due to reviews of many people having defects and leaking I gave it a spin before I gave it to him. No leaking so far! Hopfully it stays that way. The only issue I have with the craftsmanship was there were tiny bubbles in the lacquer on the inside of the cup. But the outside was completely smooth, so not worth sending back for a replacement. I found the cup to be very beautiful. The sizing is perfect and I love the tiny shot cup that came with it. I could take or leave the Thor hammer bottle opener key chain, but maybe my boyfriend will appreciate it more than me, ;). I'm definitely happy with this purchase.

Very cool gifts, any beer drinker thinks this is the best.
