can this be used with a lithium battery ?

Yes. I am using the same cable setup on a Valence U1-12RJ 40 Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate Medical Cart battery to connect to a 10 Amp Victron charger. Mine gets charged weekly through the Winter. Its for a DIY mini camper project.
