Really nice but I should have got a front/rear camera kit instead
I'm late to this party so I'll mostly say that all the positive that you've read is true. Great picture quality and a really well made camera with excellent instructions. Well worth the money for what it offers. Here's two thingsI don't like.1: It is BIG. It hangs down from the mount and even though it is relatively small dimension-wise it is hanging out there in the open. From outside the car it is obvious there is steal-worthy camera hanging from the windshield. That just makes me nervous although it may not bother many folks. So only you can judge for yourself if valuables out in the open are an invitation to someone to break into your car.2. It does not cover out the back window of the car. Not fair to say as it is obvious that it is only one camera. After installing this camera and using it I realized that I did not address my main problem with this purchase. I have experienced 5 accidents in my car. Four of them happened while I was at a stop light and somebody just drove into my stopped car. Two of those incidents involved me getting out my car to meet the offender only to watch him speed off around me. Another time a lady hit my car but had the maturity to exchange information with me and my insurance company handled the rest. The remaining incident my car was parked at a store and somebody caved in the right rear wheel fender with some awesomely inept driving skills. Naturally, no note or anything so I ended up paying for many of these.A rear window camera would have helped my to prosecute my case against the dishonest folks. A good parking mode would have helped me with the parking lot incident. If all you want is a nice log of the countryside rolling by your front window or catching those crazy things that often happen in front of us, then this camera is all you need. If you want to protect against those irresponsible drivers who hit you and flee then you need more than a front window camera.

Love the Cam, but minus 2 stars for shipping with an incompatible SD card and not having Mac Compatible Software
I ordered this cam along with the GPS mouse and Vico Power Plus power adapter. First off, the camera works as advertised. The video quality is very good and the automatic switching to parking mode works great. The overlay of the timestamp on the video is a bit high, but acceptable. This is one of the only cams that can swivel (which is why I chose it) and that also works great. I can turn it 180 degrees to face the inside of the vehicle while parked facing a wall or towards the driver or passenger window if I get pulled over.So why only three stars?Since I have been running this camera for about two weeks, I have been unable to get the video to wrap (deleting the oldest "chapters" so new video can be recorded). Instead, when the card is full, I get a "Slow Card" message and the recording stops. I tried everything recommended; resetting defaults, updating to latest firmware, etc) but it still would not wrap. So I pulled an SD card (Sandisk Ultra) from my GoPro and reformatted it in the Opia-2. Running this for a couple of days shows that it wraps as expected from the camera. Looking closer at the 64GB card shipped with my camera shows it to be a "TEAM Group", and NOT a "Transcend" as described in the description. I use Transcend cards in my DSLR cameras and they are great, but I have never heard of "Team Group" and they are apparently NOT compatible with this camera. Minus one star for shipping an incompatible card with the camera. You should also know that if you are a Mac user, there is no Mac compatible software for this camera. The software on the Vico site is PC only. There are a couple of generic dash-cam software programs for the Mac, but this camera is not supported by them (at least not in my tests). You CAN download and view the video "chapters" using an SD card reader (they are MP4 files) and iMovie or VLC, but you are limited to the video and whatever information is overwritten on it. You can't do any of the advanced stuff with the GPS info, etc. Minus another star for not having Mac software or at least working with Mac Software Developers to get the camera supported in other Mac software.Lastly, the suction cup mount works, but can be tenuous when temperatures change. Several times while parked, the suction cup mount has fallen off the window. I would have preferred a premium suction cup mount like those you can get for the Escort Redline Radar Detector. This is a premium camera after all. Not reducing a star for this as the suction cup provided is slightly better than the ones on a cheap cell phone holder.Again, overall I like the camera and it performs well. I would recommend getting not only a circular polarizer but also a UV lens protector, especially if you live in a tropical latitude like the southern United States. The polarizer reduces glare from your windshield and the UV protector will protect the digital censor of the camera. You can get both from Amazon Basics for a few bucks (52mm). The two can be connected in tandem. One more comment. According to the camera documentation, the maximum bit rate of the default video mode (1440 30fps) is 19Mb/s. This means you should be using a U3 SD card, not merely a class 10. U1 cards are only rated to 10Mb/s whereas U3 cards are rated for 30Mb/s. All the other speeds (400x, 600x, etc) refer to READ speed. When recording video, WRITE speed is what counts. A U1 card will work, but you might see glitches in the video when there is a lot of data to write to the card (like when you hit the <!> emergency record button or when the g-shock sensor triggers a sudden write.

Buy it if you need a good dashcam.
The media could not be loaded. I picked up the Opia2 with 32G Micro SD card. It actually came with Lexar 633X 64GB micro SD card. Thanks for the upgrade! The installation wasn't too difficult especially I am not going to hardwire it. You will need some 3M dual tapes. The camera is not really meant to be stealth, so I won't comment on that. The field of vision is very nice and the definition in the recordings is really good compare to my old A118. But you will need a polarized filter other wise the reflection of the dashboard will be recorded. At the night time, driving on the high way, you still won't be able to read the license plate. I assume there is no product on the market will be able to do that at this moment.I love the feature that you can turn the camera to any angle to record more than just what's in front of you. The amount came with the package is very good, I have no needs to upgrade it so far. I have heard that it functions well under the extreme temperature. I haven't tested that one out yet, weather here is pretty nice at the moment. After a few weeks of use, I am happy with this product and it serves its purpose. I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for one and is able to afford its premium price.
