GelBasics Cooling Gel-Infused Memory Foam Bed Pillow for Sleeping - 5.1-inch Breathable Medium-Loft (Queen)

Not a bad pillow, pretty comfortable so I'm giving it 4 stars...but it's not cool at all. I own another pillow with a gel layer that is actually cold to the touch when I first lay my head on it. They don't sell it anymore and haven't been able to find a comparable product. All that said, it's a pretty comfortable pillow so I'll give it that.

Needs to be a little thicker and it would be perfect. It’s firm enough without being hard.

UPDATE: After giving this to my husband, I just went back to my very worn out isocool pillow because I couldn't find anything I liked. But When he started using a CPAP, this pillow was too high for him. So I decided to give it another try. Second time is the charm I guess! After several nights of using this, I got used to it and actually really liked it. I bought another one to use when this one is worn out just in case they stop making it as was the case with my isocool pillow I loved.When I took it out of the package and laid my head on it, it felt nice. Soft but supportive. I'm used to a higher loft and more firmness but I thought this might be good for me. Nope. I woke up with a stiff neck, upper back pain and a headache. This didn't provide enough support for me. Going to let my husband try it as he prefers less loft and more softness. Maybe it'll be just right for him. Ordered the double airflow type today. One reviewer said they switched from an Isocool memory foam pillow to that one and they liked it. That's exactly what I'm doing since they do not make that pillow the same anymore. Hopefully that one will be right. I'm tired of searching for the perfect pillow.

Man, pillow shopping is the worst. Believe me, I know, having made a cross country move where we left behind all our old pillows and replaced with all new pillows. Of the many pillows at many different price points we have tried for our family in the past year, THIS PILLOW, Perfect Cloud GelBasics Memory Foam Pillow, is my FAVORITE and the one we would repurchase. I love the how the foam supports the head so the neck stays in alignment, the gentle coolness on my cheek, and the sensation that sounds are muffled. We have been sleeping on it for one year, two months, and love it just as much as Day 1.I've washed the nylon zippered slipcover that comes with the foam pillow five or six times and its holding up perfectly. Zipper works and material is solid. Other than changing pillowcases frequently and washing the zippered slipcover regularly, I'm not sure how to clean foam safely.

Extremely comfortable and firm. Stays cool. This is my second Perfect Cloud because my old one isn’t a King Size. Highly recommend.Foam pillows take a bit of getting used to if you’re used to cheap stuffed pillows but they’re amazing. You won’t be able to sleep on anything else afterwards.

BUYER BEWARE. We purchased 2 king sized pillows based on the positive reviews.When we received the pillows we were shocked as to how firm they were. Your head barely makes an indentation in the pillow and it is very uncomfortable no matter if you are a side or back sleeper. We have a tempuredic bed and have had numerous memory foam pillows which we have liked. Our favorite are the mattress firm coconut memory foam pillows which we replaced with the GelBasics because the the coconut pillows are not available in King size. Normally, I prefer my pillow on the firmer side however the GelBasics is ridiculously dense and rigid. My wife gave up and went back to our queen size coconut pillow. I really wanted these pillows to work and hoped that with time they would become more compliant. In over a month they have not become any more comfortable. I was stupid and did not give up on the pillow quickly enough. It got to the point where my neck started hurting. Unfortunately, I let the time for returning the pillow expire. I contacted the company through Amazon who quickly pointed out that the time for returns had passed. They also suggested that different people have different preferences regarding pillow firmness, which is true. However, they intimated that we most be novices regarding judging pillows and went so far as to suggest that we use the GelBasics in a guest bedroom. We treat our guests as we treat family . All our guest bedrooms have coconut memory foam pillows even though they are much more expensive. I would not subject our guests to that degree of discomfort produced by the GelBasics. These GelBasics are going in the garbage where they belong. If you like to sleep on an slab of concrete then this pillow is for you. If not go to Costco and buy their memory foam pillows for a lot less expense and better quality. Should you buy the GelBasics it does not feel good to you, return it immediately because it is not going to get any better.

This pillow does exactly what it is advertised to do. Unfortunately most of the bad reviews I read before buying this pillow are due to either (a) lack of understanding or (b) not reading the whole ad.This pillow is firm and dense. You will not be using this for a pillow fight unless you are Batman and wish to knock your opponent out cold on the first swing. A lot of reviews say this pillow is firm. It is, but it allows your head to sink into it just like memory foam is supposed to do. And it regains its original shape when your head is lifted off the pillow.The cool gel works, despite what many reviews say. Here lies the problem. Many people think "cool gel" means your head will feel chilled like you have your head stuck in a freezer. WRONG. Anyone doing a little reading understands this gel helps spread your head's warmth throughout the pillow so the pillow does not feel as warm as a normal pillow would under similar conditions. If you seriously thought this pillow would lower your head's temperature like an ice cube, come see me about some oceanfront property in New Mexico.I love this pillow and so does my girlfriend. So much so we had to buy a 2nd for her because she would always use mine. Simply read the entire ad before buying so you know what you are getting and understand how it works.
