for our son, it was magic
Here's are sleep story thus far. Our son was good at many things but sleep was not one of them. In his first few months he was often up all night. No, I do not mean multiple wakings, I mean basically one or two wake-ups and then he couldn't get him back to sleep as hard as we tried. Some night he slept only 1.5 hours total. We tried all sorts of things, some things worked a little. Swaddling sort of seemed to work a little maybe but it was hard to tell because even as a newborn he would break out of his velcro swaddles. Then our postpartum doula introduced us to the Miracle Blanket swaddle. That was harder to break out of and our son liked it better. Around 3 or 4 months he started sleeping in 1-2 hours stretches because of the swaddle which was a huge improvement. But still, being up every 1-2 hours isn't great in the whole scheme of things, right? Just before our son turned 6 months we started feeding him solid food and he started sleeping way better and things were looking up, food + swaddle was a winning combination but we had a problem: SWADDLE ADDICTION. He could not sleep AT ALL without the swaddle. Why was this a problem? Several reasons. First, I was very scared he's roll on his belly while swaddled and get stuck. Because of my fear of this we got a video monitor, but it still sort of gave me anxiety every night (even though he never actually did this). Also, he sort of had a love/hate relationship with the swaddle. He needed it to fall asleep but sometimes I felt like it was interfering with his ability to resettle himself when he woke. Also, since our son has eczema and you can't itch yourself when you are swaddled it seemed uncomfortable at times. Imagine how maddening that would be, to have an itch and be wrapped up! And no, there was no way to unswaddle him after he fell asleep without waking him. We tried one arm out many times as a transition, but no luck, we were in a bind. Until we met the Magic Sleep Suit. It works like a charm. Our son loved it from the start. He feels cozy but isn't wrapped up so he can re-position himself to resettle or scratch an itch. At 8.5 months sleeps totally through the night (9pm - 7:15am) on maybe 50% of nights! We put him in naked with just a diaper and overheating has not been a problem. It's AMAZING. I can relax at night knowing he's safe and he won't be stuck if he rolls. I don't feel horrible that he might have an itch he can't get at. He's so happy to get in it every night, he does this cute little cozy wiggle as we zip him up. My husband and I look at each other all the time and say, "wow, I can't believe we made it past the swaddle!" I had no idea how we were going to get him past the swaddle. The sleep suit is very nicely designed. With 2 zippers it's easy in and easy out. Much easier than many swaddles.

Amazing! Worth every penny such a miracle!
My baby boy is extremely active always flailing his arms and legs around, and has an intense startle reflex. We started swaddling him with the miracle blanket b/c he could get out of all other swaddles. He is now 3 months and is getting too big to be swaddled, and wakes himself up grunting trying to get his arms free...yet I tried to let him sleep unswaddled and it was a nightmare. He was crying and up every hour unable to sleep. In comes in this magical sleepsuit, that a friend recommended to me. I ordered the yellow in small first. The first night I put him in it he was overtired and cranky, crying, and as soon as I zipped up the suit he was immediately calm. I put him down for bedtime, and in just few minutes he was off to dreamland. Amazing as it usually takes me an hour to get him down. The first night he woke his usual times, bed at 7pm, then up 2am and then 5am. When he woke up though he was calm and went right back to sleep which is unusual for him...usually he wakes up crying. The second night, he slept till 4:30, then he slept till wake up at 7:30. One less night feeding! Now, he is sleeping through the night!!! I know it is this suit. I heard him wake up and go right back to sleep after. To top it off, I have never been able to get him to nap in his crib, only his swing. Well I put this suit on him for morning nap just to see what would happen, he smiled, I laid him down in his crib and he happily took a nap for the first time ever in his crib! I cant believe it. He loves having his hands free but this suit makes him feel cozy...he always wants to be held for sleep. I now bought the blue in the large size as I want two of these to rotate, he is about 16lbs and fits into both fine, has room to grow into the large. I am so grateful to the woman that created this suit! It is made well, soft, and really does work! Happy mommy here! Most importantly...happy baby! I will be buying these for all my mommy to be friends now.

TOTAL GAME CHANGER!
I bought this for my granddaughter. This is my daughter’s review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TOTAL. GAME. CHANGER. We cannot say enough good things about the Magic Sleepsuit. It has been an absolute lifesaver in our house. Our baby went from fighting sleep and waking herself up constantly to falling asleep faster and staying asleep longer — and that’s priceless. The gentle, cozy structure of the suit helps calm her little startle reflex without restricting her, and she looks so comfortable and snug in it. Bedtime has become so much smoother, and naps are more consistent too. It truly gives her that secure, “held” feeling while still being safe for independent sleep. Within just a few nights, we noticed a big difference. She settles quicker, sleeps more soundly, and wakes up happier. As new parents, getting longer stretches of sleep has made such a difference for our whole family. If you’re on the fence — get it. We wish we had started sooner. Absolute 10/10. 💛

A real review and a tip :)
A REAL REVIEW from a first time mom. This thing is amazing. It helped my daughter transition out of a swaddle with ease. She loved it. It definitely helped us get some sleep too. I will be saving it for my next baby. Also to get baby out of this and into a sleep sack.. start with naps first to get them use to it for like a week! We did that and it worked great.

Used this when it first came out and using it again for Baby #2
My first baby would break out of the swaddle (miracle blanket) almost every night (if he wasn't wrapped perfectly) so I looked into making my own larger miracle blanket and even cut up a flannel king-sized flat sheet into large swaddle blankets. He was a sensitive baby and a poor sleeper. I hated diaper changes and feeds because of the long unwrapping and wrapping process. I was pretty sleep-deprived and desperate so I searched and searched online back in 2010 and found the Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit, so I went ahead and ordered 2. Sure they are not as cheap but I think you usually get what you pay for. They are well-made and durable. This was certainly worth a try for all the pain and suffering every night. I think this was when he was 2-3 months old (I ordered a small) when I was also moving him from the seemingly wonderful Rock n Play (wonderful but awful because of causing his flat head) to the crib. Guess what? It really worked because his sleep dramatically improved. He slept longer at nights. I also think he was probably too cold in all the other clothing I put him in prior to the sleepsuit (I stupidly followed SIDS recommendations and turned on my AC full blast, so he was probably freezing all the time). I ended up loaning the suits to several friends who all reported similar results. The suits really last many washes. The seams are all still intact and the suits still look great. I really was hesistant to do it again for our second baby because I really wanted her to learn to self-soothe with her hands, but she can easily stick her hands in her mouth with it on! I also didn't want to slow down any motor skill development like rolling over, but I also didn't want her rolling over and not being able to sleep! So, I really do think this can work very well for all babies. It doesn't cure every problem, but it helps to extend sleep. If your baby has reflux, you may try the suit on nap nanny or you might elevate the head of the crib mattress 30 degrees and place a u-shaped towel underneath a knit crib sheet (I think all babies like this). About drying it -- yes, it takes a little while, but that's why I would get two. To speed up the process, turn it inside out.

BABY MERLIN BRAND: BABY SLEEP SUIT & INFANT SWADDLE
BABY SLEEP SUIT & MICRO-FLEECE SWADDLE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS) Highly recommend this infant sleep suit for all babies who sleep best when swaddled securely and tightly. If your child rests most soundly when they are tightly bundled yet manage to wiggle their way out of their blanket swaddle, this microfleece sleepsuit is for you! My children have all loved being zipped up into this sleepsuit and have all seemed to find it cozy and comfortable. I’ve found that my kids all slept longer stints and more soundly when wearing this swaddle. They also fall asleep faster with less tossing and turning and uncomfortability prior to falling fast asleep. My son preferred solely wearing his diaper under the sleepsuit as an infant whereas my girls preferred to be in pajamas and then tucked into this magic sleepsuit. It provides the infants with a secure and tight fitting swaddle and almost acts as a weighted blanket for the child to optimize sleep. The only downside is the washing and cleaning of this product. We machine wash it along with other baby clothing however, we don’t dry it as it will tighten and shrink. It takes a solid 12 hours to fully air dry once machine washed so be mindful of this when doing laundry. The inside area by the legs and bottom region takes the longest to completely and fully dry, so we unzip the suit and hang it with the front flap open, once the wash cycle is complete, to ensure the inside dries completely. No one wants to be stuck without their child’s favorite sleep swaddle when bedtime rolls around, so be mindful when laundering.

Great idea with major flaws in the design...
I'm torn with this product. On the one hand, it's a great idea, while on the other hand it has several flaws (in my opinion) in the design. We're trying to transition our baby girl (almost 7 months) out of the swaddle which she's now able to flip while wearing it and found this suit. We liked that it was zippers instead of velcro as the noise velcro makes is loud and this is quiet. We also liked that the suit is 'heavy' to discourage flipping while sleeping. She took to it rather well and is sleeping with it thru the night just as she was while swaddled so on that aspect it's a great transition into sleeping without restraints. My problem with the suit includes: The zippers all point towards the neck, and if it unzips just a little, now you have two pointy ends poking her chin and neck. I wish the zippers curved outward instead of inward so that the zippers don't end up under her head. Another issue is the short lenghts of the limbs. The suit is warm so we keep her room at a cold (65 degrees) as we did when swaddled but the suit offers no warmth for her feet and hands. We had to fashion arm warmers from an old sleeper feety pajamas and thick socks to keep her limbs warm which does wake her up. The length of her body is also an issue as she's a tall baby so putting her into the suit is like casing a sausage. I wish the inseam of the suit was also a zipper that could extend the length of the torso so the suit can grow with the baby, making the hefty investment more worthwhile...as it stands, we've only had it for a few days and we don't foresee being able to use it more than a few weeks given how fast she's growing. Knowing what I know now, I'd still buy the suit as we do need to transition her out of the swaddle and into sleeping in just the feety pajamas and this is a great tool in aiding that transition where the limbs are 'free' to move, but have added weight and shorter range of motion so she doesn't whack herself awake with her reflexes. Hope that helps future buyers.

A life saver
Our 4-month old went from crying every hour to sleeping for hours once we switched to this sleep suit! He LOVED being swaddled, but once he started rolling, I switched him to a sleep sack. We went through the worst few nights of his life. He would NOT sleep without the swaddle. I was desperate. I tried other types of sleepers, not none did the trick. Until this one. From night 1, there has been a huge improvement in his sleep. He’s even slept through the night a couple times! He’s now 6.5 months, and it’s still the only way he will sleep at night. He’s knows his routine and won’t fall asleep without the magic sleep suit. It’s been worth every penny several times over!
