I find this adapter very useful, because I have one of those (old?) computer headsets that breaks the earphones and microphone into separate cables. So though I might want to use it with my laptop or my cell phone, I am unable to because of the two jacks. That’s where this adapter is so handy. You simply plug the microphone jack into the female microphone jack on this adapter (labeled with a handy pictogram - see photo), then the same with the headphone jack (also labeled - see photo), then plug the single TRRS male jack into your computer/laptop or cell phone, and you’re good to go.I am an experienced audio engineer, and I could discern no loss of volume or sound quality in my earphones when using this adapter. I also like that when you plug the two jacks from your headset into the adapter, there is a firm click, and the connection is not going to come loose unless you pull it out. Also, the braided covering on the cables will likely help increase the adapter’s longevity.Overall, I am quite pleased with this quality adapter and do recommend it.

Good for price

I bought these, because I am using a second hand gaming headset that needed this kind of adapter to work with my computer. It seems to be well made, looks nice and made it possible to use with my computer, but only after I added a second adapter that took the two separate lines and mixed them into USB.The only issue I encountered with this cable is there is some buzz where the female connector joins to the male headset cable. It is definitely the cable, since the buzz occurs when I touch this cables female side.It's a common problem with audio adapter cables historical. I set it on a non-conductive material and the buzz stopped while in use.I rated the volume control as Three stars (Neutral) because it doesn't apply. There is no volume control.Sound quality I rated four stars because of the buzz.

low sound when combines

I am always a little apprehensive about buying things like this. Moreso from smaller or unrecognized brands because cheap audio cables are subject to so many potential issues like bizarre noise floors and feedback, et cetera. This thing actually worked. Your milage with this sorta thing will vary, but the one i got was perfect. No weird noises, not necessary to rotate the connection to fix stereo seperation; nothing like that. just does what you expect and adds nothing.

The point of this product was so you wouldn’t have to buy a PC mic. Just spend the $30 and get one this cord was a waste of money and doesn’t work at all. I tried it with 3 different headsets and none of them worked with this cord.

Purchased in by December, used about 15 times outside and reliability level dropped, audio contact regularly drops out.

This negatively affects the quality of the microphone.
