Classic protective Dad/teen daughter situation. Great kid but "experimenting a bit and growing up a bit too fast for Dad"! Kids too smart and disconnects the Iphone tracking service so I gave up on that and secretly installed Moto's device with an extension cord to hide it further up behind the dash. Easy to down load App on Iphone and also on my laptop and can check her "supposed location" ANYTIME which gives me great peace of mind as well as helped me "correct a few mistruths" with her. She is suspicious, probably figures I set something up on Iphone but keeping this device quiet for both of our benefit. I have not explored all of the features yet and am just happy with the location provider. Price was fair, it works, good customer service and I don't mind paying $20/mo for something so important as my daughter's safety. Also nice to know what is wrong with the car via the "engine diagnostic feature" which is GREAT and helps prevent me from getting ripped off by some dishonest auto mechanic.

I'll be honest... this is not to teach our teen to be a better driver. This is to "trust but verify" what he tells us. This unit was so amazingly simple to install (in secret, of course), and is tucked nicely under the dashboard so it can't be seen. This may just be the design of the car we tagged, and we're sure the location of the port is different in different cars.As a junior license holder, our teen can't drive between 9 pm and 5 am, and we long suspected he wasn't telling us everything when he stayed at a friend's house overnight. Within 24 hours of installing this unit, we knew the truth.We also saw that he drove at 83 (!!!) MPH on the 65-MPH highway. And that he uses the brakes badly.This unit works better than our wildest dreams.

Canadian buyer BEWARE!! This device does not work in Canada. Called customer service and they confirmed that only the older 3G model can be activated in Canada. Will be sending it back...

I found the program easy to use, the tracker worked, but it made my daughters car run like crap. I first thought her vehicle had bad fuel or a plugged fuel filter the way it was bucking from a complete stop, but when I took the tracker off, all the problems went away, put it back on and the problems came back. I left messages on the Motosafety chat line, I sent emails, I even called and left a voice mail on their support line to get some help with this product. Not one reply! I really wanted to keep this tracker on my daughters car for peace of mind, I just wanted to talk to someone, anyone, to find out what my options were. If this product is not compatible to certain vehicles then Motosafety should disclose that information, before someone buys it. I sent it back for a full refund. I would not encourage anyone to use this particular tracker, I will be looking for another company to do business with that has better customer service.

I have a teen driver. My insurance company gave me an OBD tracker as a free trial, but then decided to take it back. I liked the ability to review my kid's driving habits, so went for this. It is fantastic - of all the auto accessoried I have ever bought, this is my favorite. It allows me to see where the car is, where it has been, get alerts if (when!) my son speeds, etc. I love the geo-fence feature - you set an area on a map where the car is allowed to go, and the app reports any departures from that area. The devoce is managed either through a website or a mobile app. Both are very easy to use.Instllation? Hardly woth mentioning. Plug it in and it just works.
