This is a really great stand... my wife bought one for herself but was out of town when it arrived so i was able to use it for a day. Every once in awhile a new product comes out that makes so much sense you wonder why it took so long to be invented. This laptop stand is that product. I love it. It has two adjustable arms, top and bottom, so no matter what the set up, I can get the laptop in a more or less ergonomically sound position. The bottom has several small pads made of silicon (?). They provide plenty of “grab” to keep the stand from sliding around on the desk surface, which in my case is glass. I am certain the pads will work with wood, stone, and other surfaces. The stand itself is metal, sturdy and solid yet surprisingly lightweight. I like the rough finish. Addendum. After using it for a few weeks now and being asked the question of does the laptop bounce on the stand, yes. It does. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for the product has declined. I have a Mac air. I admit that the bouncing is annoying, especially when I get going on the keyboard.
