CS-201 Heavy Duty Long Handled Safety Razor with 5 Astra Double Edge Razor Blades

I'm an experienced double edge razor user.I tested many different DE razors in combination with many different blades.I live in Europe, where we have high quality razor brands. I like german razors from MÜHLE, MERKUR, GIESEN&FORSTHOFF (TIMOR) or PILS for their excellent manufacturing quality, at a sometimes high price level.I found this SAMURAI razor here at Amazon, and my first impression was not the best.The packaging is a bit "too much" with a lot of promises written on it.Compare this packaging with the serious german packaging of a PILS razor, and you'll understand what I mean ...So I ordered this razor mostly by curiosity.TEST :I decided to test this Samurai razor, not with one of the ASTRA blades included in the package, but with an extremely sharp japanese FEATHER blade. If this razor is really as gentle as promised, I would feel it immediately with a FEATHER blade.RESULT :I had a shaving experience with this Samurai razor far beyond my expectations.This razor IS gentle, very well balanced, good manufactured. I could shave softly and reach a "smooth baby face" skin with it.QUALITY :Have a look at the pictures, I compared this SAMURAI razor with a GIESEN&FORSTHOFF (TIMOR) Gentle Shaver.Both razors are very similar in shape, weight and gentleness.The SAMURAI razor is well manufactured.CONCLUSION :I recommend this razor.It will give the best shaving experience with very sharp japanese KAI or FEATHER blades.Think also about testing russian blades with it : RAPIRA Platinum Lux or VOSKHOD.

My husband had to take some practice learning out to handle this but since then hes absolutely loved it. This is actually our second purchase as he broke the first one on a trip. He said he will never shave with anything else.

One of the reasons I wanted a Safety Razor was to do my part for the planet and not have to continually buy razors. This razor broke after less than 3 months of use. The screw part broke completely off so there is no way to connect the handle to the razor head. Sorry, planet. I tried.

I love this razor and it doesn't shave extremely close like some others so you dont tear up your face using it

Wish I had gotten one of these sooner. My legs feel so much smoother and I don't have to buy anymore plastic razors!

Great razor for those of us who enjoy a back in time shave....

This is why reading reviews on products is well worth it. I thought the reviews on this razor was well worth trying and i had nothing to lose but a possible bad shave. I purchased 5 of these razors. I was pleasantly impressed with what i found was a semi- aggressive clean shave. No cuts or nicks with a 4 pass shave. For the inexpensive price of the razor i will now continue to convert disposable razor shavers to double edge wet shavers with these as gifts. Classic Samurai keep up the great work.Sam.

This is an excellent razor, money well spent. Yes I would repurchase immediately should I ever want to give as a gift. This razor is worth every penny !
