The latch on my 2007 travel trailer finally gave up (actually it still worked but the handle locking mechanism broke earlier this year and my wife could never figure out the deadbolt locking sequence). I did some research and landed on the LATCH.IT products, specifically the Black 2.0 model. I liked that they are a USA company and had good reviews and their products appeared to be quality so I decided to give them a try. Unfortunately I received what appeared to be a used or open box item, it had a couple of minor nicks/scratches and the box and product showed signs of being opened but all the parts were there and by the time I noticed the nicks and scratches I already had the old handle off and proceeded with installing the new one. Installation was plug-and-play and I didn't have to make a single modification, everything fit perfectly, including the striker plate (which didn't need replacing but I did anyways) so this kit has everything for a replacement or new install. After contacting their customer service about the nicks/scratches, they gave me a 20% refund without any hassle, which was nice. Considering the lifetime warranty and the fact that it will probably get scratched and nicked anyways because we use our trailer a lot, I was pleased with the outcome. I also like that it looks more "modern" and up to date compared to the old chrome one. The latch is also much lighter compared to the old one but still feels sturdy and the deadbolt and latch actions all seem "solid" and smooth and so I feel like it will last a good long time. If for some reason it doesn't, there's the lifetime warranty and the company seems responsive and I feel like it wouldn't be a hassle if I had to make a claim. Although the company is based in the USA, the product is made in China. Nice that they also included a cool sticker (mine was for Washington state)! All in all, highly reccomended, five stars!

Our Nov 2020 Outback locked us out one morning as we were preparing to move to our next project. I simply could not unlock the deadbolt and I had to drill the tumbler out. It was such a nice surprise to receive this 4 days before the earliest promised delivery date. The lockset installed very easily, and is definitely nicer quality. Appearance-wise it looks pretty much the same, but not only does the door shut with less force, it no longer pops open against the locked deadbolt when you pull on the latch to test the door after locking the top lock. This was an issue on both of our RV's (2018 Starcraft and 2020 Keystone Outback.) Very pleased and very happy with this vendor. I've never received a delivery from a US vendor to Canada this fast! My only concern is the key codes appear right on the exterior lock panel. This needs to be changed. RV thefts are up very significantly, and as the 'real' economy continues to be threatened thieves will find a way to get keys cut. Easily visible key codes are an invitation.
