Discrete - good sound quality
I ended up buying two of these, to use with the Rode Wireless Go system. It was for a wedding and I wanted something that looked smart that could be worn. Threaded it through the shirt and the transmitter part was in the guy's pocket.SOUNDSound quality was very good indeed and I'm delighted with its performance. Level seems to be good without needing too much gain, keeping noise way down.CABLECable is just long enough to go from upper chest, around waist into a pocket without being tight or having much slack.PRACTICALITYI like how the mic can be angled on the crocodile clip. I had the clip horizontally and the mic vertically. This was to align it with the vertical of the subject's shirt, but also I was only broadcasting a single channel and worked out which channel I needed pointing upwards. It stayed attached until I removed it, so very happy.LIMITATIONSCrocodile clips is useful but not for all situations. Given this is going to be worn, a magnetic option would be a great alternative. That would allow mic to easily be placed behind clothing, which was my preference. The little wind muff that sheathes the mic, managed to fall off and I never recovered it. So now without it. Would have been nice if they'd provided a spare, and/or a lighter colour to more closely match certain clothing.VALUEIt's lovely to have a Sony branded product to compliment my mostly Sony lineup, and gives a professional appearance, which is important.VERSATILITYAt this price point, having a stereo lavalier mic is quite unheard of. My needs was mono, so I had to check which (L or R) was connected to my wireless system (I discovered it was the L channel).USESCable isn't quite long enough to do selfie shots to camera with it plugged in. It's ideal as a plug-in for radio mic system such as DJI and Rode's offerings. Also using it as a narrative mic while filming with the camera.OVERALLYou can pick up some decent mics at rock bottom prices. At this price for a Sony branded mic, my expectations weren't hight (Sony do put their label on some trash at times). I'm no audiophile but the sound is clear and great for speech. It does a good job at picking up ambient noise, although that could be an issue if using it in a noisy environment (this is where you could use the L and R channels effectively; one pointing at the subject, the other sucking up atmosphere). For under £30 I would recommend adding this to your kit. If using with a wireless system with mono input, work out which channel is live (L in my case). Or add a splitter and pump out two transmitters giving stereo feed.

Well made
Nice and useful wired stereo. I bought for Sony ZV1 and it works well.. rejects room and is sensitive to lower the input volume to suit. Can't comment on outside use but was hoping i will get some stereo field but not sure how it is wired - is it summed to mono ? Idk. Also worked on my old Sony pc100 dv cam but was loud thus noisy because that device doesn't appear to have input level control. It doesn't work with at least one phone i tried which is understandable but disappointing.. it only has stereo type mini jack and not a phone type mini jack. Well my cheap android has twin stereo speakers built in that do fair job of field recordings with the right app. I think phones only support one mic over mini jack ie typical headset that comes with phone. Shame! Any i recommend them if you don't mind wired over wireless.

Ideal for a professional video use
The media could not be loaded. This Sony Lav mic is made of a plastic material but the quality is very good. The texture of the cable feels like low-quality plastic. The overall sound quality is 75% out of 100% which is good enough to be used in a professional environment. The 90-degree jack is not something I have seen on these types of lav microphones but does not affect the usage. The rotating clip that allows for the lav mic to be connected to a person speaking is perfect for changing the direction of the microphone.

Great for this money
It's not cheap, but it's good. It records well, has a sensitive microphone and lots of treble. But I wouldn't pay more than £28 for it this is the maximum

A very decent microphone for the price.
I have been using this in a sony Walkman professional WM-D6C to record social events with Dolby B encoding to eliminate tape hiss. The Walkman has been calibrated to the blanks used in testing. The microphone has a low noise floor and in such an ambient setting I cannot hear or notice hiss from the microphone. It carries a very realistic sound to human voices that when you place good headphones on feels like you are back in the room. The only downside is while the cable is sturdy it is a little on the thinner side, so I definitely think it should be taken care of. The other thing is the included wind sock can sometime come off in normal use. This happened while making a recording by the coast and thankfully my partner spotted it had come off as it rubbed against my bag it was clipped to. It has come off a couple of times since.

Didn't work
Didn't work.Assumed it would be a functioning product as it's from Sony, by the time I got around to unboxing and using it - it was as dead as a dodo and too late to return.Lots of purchasers seem to have had a similar experience. Maybe it was a second or a return - possibly a bit of a scam.So best to avoid, in my opinion or at least test it as soon as it arrives..
