A thrilling romp through the Wild West
A thrilling romp through the Wild West, Retribution Rails was such a fun read. This book has it all; train robberies, shootouts, outlaws, plenty of danger, twists, blackmail, and two characters who want to hate each other, and fall in love with each other all at the same time. This book is one wild, thrilling read. What a fabulous companion to Vengeance Road. There's something about the way Erin Bowman writes her stories that completely hooks me. Like Vengeance Road, once I started this book there was no stopping until I was done. It's not hard getting swept away in this series. It's so good, and highly entertaining! Bowman's story telling makes you want to beg her for one more story. In all honesty after she finished that story, I'd keep asking for more. She has a way of effortlessly infusing all the elements I love in good a story within the pages of her book. One of my favorite elements is the historical setting.Like Vengeance Road, the setting for Retribution Rails literally springs to life. It makes you feel like you've stepped back into time, and have gotten your own personal glimpse of the wild west. It's definitely a dangerous, thrilling glimpse. The characters who call this setting home are great! They're the kind of characters you can't help but root for from the get go. You understood the forced situations they find themselves in, empathize with their choices, and want to see them break free of what's holding them back. Let's be honest, nothing Bowman's characters go through is easy, and neither is getting out of their tough situations.I loved Charlotte and Reece. These two are stubborn as they come. Which definitely provided for some interesting stand offs between these two and some laughs from me. They're the perfect opposites in all the right ways, and compliment each other well. Charlotte is the kind of girl I absolutely love. She's strong, smart, thinks before she acts, doesn't back down, and incredibly clever. Reece kind of broke my heart at first. He's had it rough, and doesn't think he's better than the situations he's been forced into. He's so much better than he realizes. I love that it takes Charlotte for him to see that. The character chemistry between Charlotte and Reece is fabulous! It's not a love at first sight at all. In-fact you could say these two could not stand each other, though there's definitely enough intrigue that you knew something was going to happen. Well that, and there was no way that after their first meeting, that their paths wouldn't cross again. I absolutely loved Kate and Jesse and their surprising role in this story. The scenes with them are great, and some of my favorite. This is a fast paced, action fueled plot line that full of twists, blackmail, and the right amount of romance that slowly sizzles in the back ground. It's what I'd call an awesome read! After reading Vengeance Road I had high expectations for this book, and it did not disappoint! It's a fabulous companion, and it's own story entirely. I loved spending time back in the world of this series. Now I'm going to patiently hope that we get another book...... if not, thankfully I've got these two books to re-read.On a side note, I absolutely love the covers for the books in this series.

Highly immersive, fascinating, and dynamic
Retribution Rails glitters like gold. It is wild, heart pounding, and rich! With danger, excitement, and a stunning cast of characters, this one is sure to take your breath away! For lovers of Vengeance Road, you will not be disappointed with this companion novel!I devoured Retribution Rails! The minute it arrived in my hands, I could not put it down. It was action packed, emotional, and thrilling! I thought I loved Vengeance Road, but I loved this one even more! Erin Bowman did an outstanding job with bringing me back in to the wild west world of Arizona and The Rose Riders. She painted such an elegantly rich picture with her writing!Just like Vengeance Road, Retribution Rails had an immense amount of world building. I could see everything clearly while I read, as if I were brought back to the wild west myself. Her story imagery was astounding, and the depth of the characters was even more beautiful! We were introduced to a strong, stubborn, brave girl named Charlotte Vaughn. Charlotte had gumption and fierce determination. She was beautiful and wild, and always tried to rise above her expectations as a woman. She was so different from Kate in Vengeance Road, and yet, so alike in many ways. And then there was Reece Murphy. I fell in love with Reece. His story was so well developed and his character just fit seamlessly in the plot. He was alluring, but mysterious. He was brave, and a little vulnerable inside, and he had such depth to his personality. He was also a little dangerous, but seemed to have a decent heart, kind of like Jesse in Vengeance Road. There were so many twists and turns in this wild ride! I could feel my heart racing at each one. This one had the heart of a true cowboy and the soul of a strong woman! It was highly immersive, fascinating, and dynamic! I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good story and a great Western!

5 Reasons I Loved Retribution Rails
What I loved about this novel:1. It is action-packed from page one! You start this story, and it’s just one big event after another. There’s no down time, so don’t read this one if you want to get some sleep.2. I LOVE the women in these novels. They are so authentically bad ass. Sometimes you read a book and it’s very clear that the author was trying to make a strong woman character. These women in the wild west had to be bad ass, and they’re freaking awesome.3. I knew that Kate and Jesse from Vengeance Road would make an appearance in this novel, but I didn’t realize how much their story would intertwine. I loved how their story connected with that of Charlotte and Reece. LOVED IT!4. I said it about Vengeance Road, and I’ll say it about Retribution Rails too: I LOVE how Erin Bowman wrote the novel in a Western dialect. It made the story feel even more authentic and made it an even more fun read.5. The ending melted my heart. It was simply perfect, and that’s all I’ll say.BONUS POINT: THE GORGEOUS EFFING COVER!I would recommend this book to anyone who might have even the slightest interest in a young adult Western. It’s so fun, you’ll have a hard time not enjoying it.

This book was so amazing! First off
This book was so amazing! First off, I love the setting of the Arizona Territory during the Wild West days. While I was sad it didn’t take place around the Phoenix area where I grew up, it did give me a taste of Prescott (which I’ve never been). Charlotte and Reece were great narrators. Charlotte bugged me at first (she seemed holier than thou), but she grew on me. Reece I loved from the very beginning and just wanted to give him huge hugs. One thing I really loved? A woman ran the newspaper down in Yuma! I know that likely didn’t happen in real life, but the idea of it in the west made me so happy! I also loved seeing some old friends from Vengeance Road. This series is a series I will read and reread for a long time!
