This does not have a smoky flavor at all.

The product said hickory smoked salt. It was not hickory smoked salt. It was salt with a bunch of junkie herbs and spices. This is not truth in advertising. Shame shame shame on you!!!

I think that if you try smoked salt, your other salts might find their way to the back of the spice cupboard. It's delicious on eggs or anything else that you want to taste as if it's been smoked. The quality of the grinder is more than sufficient which I cannot say for some pepper I recently purchased (not this product) so you don't need to work very hard to grind what you need. Twice now, I've had someone over for lunch and ended up giving them my bottle and replacing it. I really enjoy it. I think it is a must have at home, I have one in the RV and often include it in gift baskets for people that I know enjoy cooking. It's a bit expensive but once you taste it, you won't care.

Let’s get the not so exciting part out of the way first (I promise, it only goes up from here). The grinder is not the most fantastic in the world. But it’s meant to be a use it and recycle it kind of deal. So, I get it. It’s not bad by any means. But not great compared to my nice refillable grinder. Apples and oranges though.With that out of the way... the flavour. Oh. My. Gee. I love me a campfire steak. But life doesn’t always allow for that kind of time. This stuff is like sprinkling camp fire flavour right on your steak (or whatever you’re a-salt-ing. Ha. See what I did there? I know. I’m hilarious. LOL) anyway. My horrible attempts at humour aside, this stuff is amazing. Treat yourself to some fancy salt. You deserve it. LOL

I find both the salt and smoke flavour to be very bland. The smell of smoke is strong, but not entirely pleasant (compared to the wonderful smell of my other smoked salt brand I have). It almost smells a little burnt. It's not horrible though and I will continue to use it as I don't like to throw good money away. I do quite like the container it's in and if it continues to grind well, will refill it with a better smelling and tasting smoked salt when this salt is all gone. I can't see that I would purchase this product again though, when I can get better smelling and stronger tasting smoked salt for the same price at my local grocery store.Edit - this salt has become my favourite salt. Yes, it's still a little bland but after rebuying what I thought was my favourite brand and discovering it was a one off that I originally purchased, and 2 other brands, one of which smells so bad I'll just be using it to melt the ice off my steps this winter, and the other (well known, super expensive) brand that smells good but just hits you with a massively strong salt flavour and nothing else, I have repurchased this brand again and find it is consistent with my 1st purchase. It's not super salty and it smells smoky. I use it on everything. I haven't had any issues with the bottles either. It just keeps grinding away. I expect when my 2nd bottle is empty, I'll be buying a 3rd one.

Works well, tastes good.

tastes great not sure how I feel about the grinder function don't really see the point of that but it really adds flavour
