MobileDemand Military Drop Tested Rugged Case for Microsoft Surface 3, Black

As a student who is constantly on the go and with many kids, I needed something a bit more durable than the average case but didn't want to sacrifice the look. With this case I have both confidance in its durability and a new found love for the rugged or heavy duty look. I don't have to worry about my kids dropping it and it shattering, the handles make it amazingly easy to carry by hand, the case is still small enough to fit in a book bag, and to be honest it just looks really baddass. Two thumbs up!

There are pros and cons to this case. Starting with the pros. The case is sturdy. I love the carry handle and the strap on the back once you unhook the strap on the back the stand has a full range of motion. The S-pen holder is a little tight but works well. I just wish it was on the other side. I purchased the Sparin glass screen protector which fits no problem. The Microsoft keyboard works well to. The Bad I couldn't find any instructions to put this together. The rubber tore at the bottom as I was putting it together not a huge major but not what you expect when you pay this much on a case. The rubber covers that protect the ports fall out easily and are hard to put in. The straps that hold keyboard up leave indentations in the keyboard. Overall I really like this case. Just a reminder if you are going to use a Micro SD card install it before you put on the case. You don't want to have to remove it unless you have to.Update: The tear which I though was no big deal became a problem as the entire corner started to rip off. I contacted Mobile Demand and they were happy to replace it with a new one! Excellent customer service and support.

I don't give negative reviews but this case is garbage. I had it on my tablet and day two one of the corners ripped off. Don't buy it. I recommend anything but this. The design is tactical and rugged just how I like my accessories but for the price of this I expected a top quality tactical case and I took it off. I'm sending it back and expect a full refund.

The hand strap on the back is what sold me on this. It works good and the kickstand is also great. but the rubber insert that hugs the tablet is VERY fragile. I chopped off one of the bottom corners simply trying to seat the tablet in the hard shell. Other than the very thin rubber insert it works great.

This item is okay.. Little on the pricy side for the actual quality. Surface mounts in with little to no issues. Straps are great and secure. Stylus is held in securely and also has a strap.. Where the unit goes wrong is the rubber side covers do not like to stay in which can expose your USB, power ports to the elements. Did a little trimming of the rubber and they seem to stay in better now. Second issue is the elastic straps which hold the keyboard against the unit. These seem to pop out of the plastic tabs and fall off. Had to put a few drops of Locklite into them and glue the ends back into the plastic tabs. Was secure then and have not had any further issues so far with the keyboard coming undone. Contacted the manufacture for replacement elastic loops as replacements but they never got back to me. A feature that would be good would be a thin plastic cover to protect the keyboard when in the up position.All in all a bit pricy for what you get but the unit has worked well...

Outstanding case. Th base allows it to be held on the steering wheel at a good angle and allows you to type field notes easily in the vehicle. I work around sandblasting and the dust covers over the ports give me added comfort while in the field. The strap on the back is comfortable for holding while typing with the other hand. All around very happy with this purchase.

So far so good. I've read reviews about the rubber bumpers tearing. I wonder if these folks new that the entire rubber piece has to be removed for application fit, then it all returns to the frame. I dont see how they are tearing the bumpers!!

The rubber at the two bottom corners are too fragile and easy to TEAR. The torn parts will hardly be put inside the hard case properly. Even if you tried very hard to push the torn rubber inside the hard case, they will easily come out of the hard case during daily uses and will make the corners protrude beyond the appropriate position.Even though I have followed the official instruction video to install this "rugged" case on my Surface 3, the rubbers at the corners on my case are torn quickly when I push the rubber into the hard shell with my thumb, as what the video shows us to do.
