Well written, I love the story of the McKinney family. True love embodied in every page. Our whole family has read it, and loved it!Can’t wait for the next one

First of all, I am NOT a reader! I typically get distracted about a third of the way through every book I read! Though my INTENTIONS are good, my ATTENTION is usually akin to that of a squirrel. This book was different. With a couple of low-sleep nights and otherwise unproductive days, I devoured every page in less than 3 days!Do not be deceived into thinking that this is merely the story of one isolated family, merely a collection of tales. Although it is a series of stories, there is one thread throughout: the impact offollowing Jesus, wherever He leads, through hills and valleys, in willing obedience. Obedience is a theme throughout the book. Though naysayers abounded and discouragement often came, perseverance came calling, and obedience to God's call was achieved. Through joy and pain, triumph and sorrow, God never failed them.I learned 2 incredible lessons:1. Pray that God would open doors, and be willing to walk through them. Pray for God to close doors that are not your best yes. Be willing to accept that HE closed them and move on.2. Pray fervently, boldly, and specifically even when hope seems lost! God came through, time and again for this family, not only because they were willing to be obedient but because they boldly sought His will and availed themselves to it.As a fellow adoptive mama, I laughed and cried and did it again as I watched God make one less orphan, time and time again. Definitely an encouraging read for adoptive families, those with a heart for adoption, those who have a soft spot for large families, and those who long to follow God boldly, in every area of their lives!!

What an inspiring and encouraging read. I love that Ann is so honest and open about the struggles they experienced as a family. God's fingerprints are on every page of this beautiful work! Also, they never make you feel like every family is called to do what they have done. They simply share their story and how God worked everything out and opened and closed the doors. Worth every penny and I am so glad I bought this book.

Ann is an excellent writer, and her story gripped me right from the beginning. I could not put it down, and read the entire book in one day. I applaud her for sharing her heartwarming story of faith and her family. I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever toyed with the idea of adopting or fostering. Reading Ann and Dale's story has solidified my faith in knowing that God is leading me too, as I navigate the journey to fostering. It's in His hands. He'll either open a door or he'll close it. Where He leads I'll follow.

This book tells the amazing story of faith and sharing God's love. Ann and he husband Dale are two amazing parents and have faith the size of a mustard seed. They truly live life thru God's word and His direction.I have personally know the family for many years and go to church with them. I help teach their children and I'm blessed to be able to love on each and everyone of them. I normally am not a reader. I sit down and read a chapter at a time and many times end up not finishing a book. I sat down with Ann's book the day after I received it and didn't move from my chair until it was finished a few hours later.Although I knew a lot of the stories I didn't know everything. I laugh and I cried as I read thru each chapter about their children that they gave birth to, adopted or just loved on for a season of their life. She is amazing and I have no idea how she had time to journal about each step of the way but she did and pulled it together to be an incredible book that I will treasure.I am blessed to know and love this family. People from all over the world could learn about faith and love from Ann.

I have never had so many tears reading a book! It was so heart warming! Easy to read (in between the sniffles). If she ever writes another book, I will be in line for it!! Worth every penny of it

What an amazing family! Ann walks the reader through the incredible McKinney clan's story with honesty, transparency, humor, tears, AND GOD. This book is filled with helpful insight and encouragement for prospective foster and/or adoptive parents. So many times we see the door and the barrier it represents, but the amazing things on the other side... Ann and Dale's journey show us the joy of opening the door and walking through the doorway. Thank you for sharing your story!!!

Just finished reading this and I was amazing. I definitely cried during parts of it. It was beautifully written. Loved Ann's raw honesty of both the good and the hard parts of adopting. This book truly is a treasure!
