Works fine
Main intent of usage is to gain coverage in campsites. Sometimes the source WiFi is on the wrong side of the trailer or too far away for laptop coverage. Part of the solution was to buy a Hawking Smart Repeater. The next part was to be able to put the repeater antenna in a window with favourable coverage... and that all depends on the camp ground. It also provides some directivity to attenuate the MiFi blasters as long as they are on the sides or behind the direction of desired coverage.Gain? can't argue with the specs. 9+dB over a dipole has got to be an improvement. Will need to see how well it makes up for tree brush. The big advantage is placement. The RF cable is kinda stuff. It puts strain on both the antenna connection and the repeater connection. Need to train the cable to the desired shape for the required location.

Excellent directional range extender
Granted I didn't use the flimsy suction cups but drilled and attached this directly to a fence post. This, as well as a low-loss cable I had to buy from another site (note to all, Amazon does NOT sell a wire that will go from the back of a standard WiFi router, aka LinkSys, Netgear, et. al.), got the WiFi signal out of the house to a fencepost where I now am shooting 90% signal strength well over 100 yards where before I had 0%. In fact it's shooting that signal through a giant old house between my house and the structure I'm sending the signal to. It's fairly incredible for such a simple set up. The signal even is stronger in the house in general as an added bonus. If you're looking to shoot your WiFi signal over 100 yards to another building with this, and a third-party male to female low-loss wire, you'll be all set and in business.

100% Signal Strength Throughout My Condo
My Condo is about 900 square feet. My wife likes to use her laptop on the kitchen table which is pretty far from my wireless router. Her average signal strength was about 60-70% which I suspected was the cause of the jitter and pausing she experienced while watching streaming video. Also, since there are 9 other wireless networks in range of ours, we experience random disconnects from our router. In an attempt to drown out the neighbor's networks, I bought this Antenna and mounted it up high in the corner of a room in the center of the condo. Amazingly, no matter which room I'm in, my laptops report a 100% signal strength and all the connectivity issues seemed to be resolved, even the jitter with streaming video. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this antenna works. My only complaint with this product is that the housing for the antenna feels/looks a little cheap.

Did not help.
Purchased the HiGain antenna in an attempt to enhance the signal from an Actiontec router. Simple to install and up and running in a matter of seconds, however checking the signal strength at various locations showed absolutely no improvement over the 2dB antenna supplied with the router. I returned it and purchased a Hawking HWREN1 Range Extender from Amazon and "WOW" what a difference! I now have full signal strength throughout my entire house with no dead zones. The range extender is obviously more expensive and complex than just a simple antenna change, but it really solved all my signal problems. I had a LinkSys range extender for a while but it did not provide consistent signal strength and was difficult to configure. The Hawking was a snap to set up and has performed flawlessly.

minus two stars already
I haven't gotten it yet. I ordered it on October 9th. I clicked "ships in 3-5 business days", the next day I got my e-mail receipt. The scheduled delivery date is October 20th. I realize that I made the purchase late Saturday night, so I figure take away Sunday, that give 3-5 business days for it to get to my house by Friday.Maybe I'm doing my math wrong but I calculate October 20th to be 11 days after the date of order. Maybe I'm doing my math wrong, but 11 days is not the same as 3-5 days.I'm writing this on the third business day, and I enter my tracking number and all I get is "Carrier notified to pick up package".Guess what? If you had told me it was going to take that long, I would have bought it from somewhere else.

Outstanding product!
I purchased Hawking directional antenna for use on a desktop computer that was tucked away under a desk and unable to receive an acceptable wifi signal. Keep in mind this unit can be used as either a transmit or receive antenna with equally good results. My computer has a PCI wifi card, with small 4 inch OEM antennas on the back that could not do the job. I positioned the antenna in a corner approximately 1 foot from the ceiling, pointing in the general direction of my wifi router which is located in another room in the house. The throughput improvements were excellent. My receive rates improved from a measly 4mps to a consistent 17-19mps. Since the antenna is white, it blends in well and is hardly noticeable. One piece of advice - the included cable is very short - only about 6 feet. I strongly recommend that you also spring for the Hawking cable extender (Hawking RP-SMA TO RJ-SMA ( HAC7SS ). I had to go back and order the cable separately after discovering that the included cable was too short to properly position the antenna near the ceiling. I tested my throughput before and after installing the cable extender, and even though there should be some minor gain loss, I had nearly identical throughput due to improved positioning. If you purchase this unit you will not be disappointed!!!

Definitely works
I believe it's important to manage one's expectations regarding this product. It certainly improves the signal on my wifi router as proven by my wife's experience with it. She used to have connection drops and sometimes didn't connect to our internal network at all, however since I installed this product, those incidents are things of the past. Connection is not full bars all the way, but it is always there and never drops. My router is about 50 ft and one floor up from the computer through the plenum (space between floors) and 4 walls. I chose this network solution over a network repeater because I'll never need to replace it due to a hardware failure (using the repeater method). Recommended!

High quality antenna
Purchased two of these to attach to a BosTrend adapter. The antennas themselves work great. I'm able to pick up signals at least 1/2 mile or so. Well, I should say antenna because the wifi adapter only works on one antenna port. Can only imagine as to how it would work if it were working properly.Told a friend about these and he's now planning to purchase a pair. Quite durable and well constructed. Would highly recommend to anyone needing an external antenna for their wifi adapter. I'd purchase again if need be.
