Good as any Lonely Planet book.

This travel guide turned out to be a great resource for my 27-day travels to Israel, Jordon and Egypt. Well put together and easy to follow.

Up-to-date tour-book. Good maps and descriptions

Tons of useful information. It is comprehensive. Was a real help. Strongly recommend to anyone heading to Egypt.

The title of this review says it all, but it's a big gripe for me. I don't want a guidebook that has so many pictures that you feel like you've already seen the place when you arrive. But this book has too few, and visuals are really important in choosing what to see and where to go when traveling. I was disappointed in the book for that reason.

Difficult to find anything, including the index. The index itself is small and very incomplete. Very outdated, esp in terms of hotels, money, entrance requirements to various tourist attractions. Old guide listed things like hotels in order of expensive, moderate, and budget. Here a few hotels are lumped together in some haphazard manner. Could not find common places to visit, the book is a mysterious hodgepodge of disorganized nonsense.

This was the most outdated and useless book I have ever purchased. It was literally dead weight that I tossed halfway through my trip. The chapter on the Egyptian Museum was useless as nothing was were it claimed it was. I understand that due to Covid they couldn’t send someone to update the book physically but a simple internet search by an intern could have updated 90% of the book. Do not waste your money. Nothing in this book is current.

Lonely planet books are my go to books when it comes to travelling. I always trust the information they put in these books specifically. Lots of ideas and places to stay, and what to do. Makes Egypt sound very exciting. Can’t wait for the camel rides and pyramids!!
