For my first two children, I didn't have to pay for a pump. My mom found a good used one on Craigslist I think, for my first daughter. And for my second daughter, I was able to rent one free of charge from the hospital with my insurance company. So I was always under the impression that a good quality pump must cost an arm and a leg, and that you would need to shell out a couple hundreds of dollars for a good one that hasn’t been used.But then I found the Lansinoh SmartPump Double Electric Breast Pump on Amazon and was pretty shocked that a pump with as many advanced features as this one would be so affordable. I actually don’t really need the bluetooth or app functions and haven’t even tried those features, so I can’t speak to the functionality of those aspects. I wish I had seen that I could have gotten this same pump without those features for half the price of this one, because that’s even more of a steal! But I didn’t see that one until after I purchased this one. And I’m honestly okay with it because $140 for such a great quality pump is still such a great deal! I saw other pump companies on Amazon charging the same price for just one single electric pump, without any additional accessories or bluetooth/app capabilities.Pros:I’ve been very pleased with this little thing. It’s compact, not bulky at all (unlike the ones I’ve used in the past). It’s super easy to put together and I can take it apart and re-assemble it very easily in between uses to clean all the parts I need to clean. It’s also suuuuuper quiet! I remember the other two pumps I used in the past (both Medelas) would have this rhythmic sound that you could hear while pumping. My husband and I used to play a game where we would come up with words that the pump sounded like it was saying, or make a song out of the noise. But this one is so quiet, most times I can’t even tell if it’s on until I place it onto my breast. I’m not sure what some of these other reviewers are experiencing with their pumps, but my pump is definitely not loud at ALL!I also like that there are different types of suction patterns that you can choose to mimic your child’s sucking pattern more closely. My previous pumps did not have those options, and I quite like this feature. I have been able to letdown more milk by switching the suction pattern at times when my flow was a little low. The tote bag and ice pack are also really cool added accessories that are included along with this pump.Cons:As far as the cons, I do wish the suction capacity of this pump was a little higher. I know that many women prefer having a pump whose suction doesn’t go so high, as it can cause pain or discomfort for them. However, I personally prefer pumping on a higher suction setting, especially when I’m engorged and need quick relief. On this pump, you’re able to increase the suction level, but it doesn’t really increase the force of the suck, but rather, it elongates the suck. It kind of slows down the suck and gives you a longer suck, not a stronger one. So, I don’t like that aspect of the pump. But that’s really the only downfall I can think of.***Word of Advice***Just be sure to completely dry out the parts that attach the bottle to the suction tube. Because if that little purple circle part is even a little wet, or not twisted completely in place, your suction will drop dramatically. On two different occasions, I thought that I was going to have to return the pump because the left side pump wasn’t sucking. Then I realized that checking its dryness and tightness fixed that problem.But overall, great pump! Love it so much, especially for the fact that it was priced at such an affordable rate!

About 7 months into my breastfeeding journey, I decided to splurge and buy this for myself. (At least it was a splurge for me at the time). I had previously been gifted an off brand pump that was just awful and almost, dare I say, detrimental to my journey. I would pump for 20-40+ minutes and barely get anything. I would always still feel relatively full. Once I got this one, I was shocked at just how much milk I was able to get out. It was able to empty my breasts and provide enough for my son. I could pump for 10-15 minutes and get twice what I would get before. Make sure you change out your duck bill valves occasionally, as they can wear out and reduce the suction power. You can buy them from Lansinoh directly or get the off brand ones that fit Lansinoh pumps. I was able to nurse and pump to exclusively breastfeed my son for over a year, and I used this pump at work until my son was almost two. It’s some of the best money I’ve ever spent as a mother. Sincerely, it’s worth it. They also make manual pumps that I made great use of on road trips and such, but they wear your hands out so I wouldn’t recommend those unless you’re traveling. This one is great because you can plug it in OR you can use batteries in it, so no matter where you are, you can use it. Make sure your flanges fit properly because that’ll make a big difference. Overall I would highly recommend this pump!

I am a first time mom & breastfeeding did not come naturally to me. I had such a hard time getting my baby to latch on & I decided to purchase this pump in order to save some of my milk. It was my first option and I am so glad I chose this Smart Pump !First of all, it is very lightweight and convenient to use away from home. I always carry an extra set of batteries with me just in case I need to use it on-the-go ! I love that it came with a traveling tote also.The flanges are very comfortable to use and the suction levels are perfect for any mom. I love that I can attach the Lansinoh breast milk bags directly to it and it saves me the headache of washing two more bottles.I am taking one star away because I found myself scrambling through Walmart and target to find a replacement pump valve since I noticed my supply was going down and I couldn’t figure out why. After carefully inspecting every part I realized the duckbill (valve) was torn a little and ran to Walmart to get a replacement. I wasn’t able to locate any in any store so I had to purchase online. Each one is $2.95 and shipping is $10.42 !! I had to mess with the quantity to figure out when shipping would be free. I ended up buying almost TEN valves just so I wouldn’t pay shipping. I mean, two valves and shipping was close to $20. I wish replacement parts were carried in store.Other than that one issue, I love this pump and I will continue to use it ! You get familiar with the settings and you can be done pumping in 10 minutes or less ! I am very pleased with the pump.
