They work great for what they are supposed to do they float there and let your plant grow

I love avocado, and thought about growing my own. Watching the videos about growing your own avocado seems a little bit of work, not to mention, dirty. I didn't happen to have toothpicks, and don't want to damage the avocado seed in that way (I know there is no actual damage or lasting problem with toothpick way of growing, but it looks unsightly to me), not to mention, I want something that looks nice in a household setting instead of toothpicked seeds, so I ordered these.These are very easy to use, something that lazy people like me could just set it and forget about it (except for weekly water changing). All I had to do is put the seed into these, and let them float on top of a water pad. They look very nice, and feel very sturdy, though personally, these are a little bit expensive for the floaties that they are, but look better than toothpicks, and feels very solid, and act as a cute sort of decorations in a corner of the house. My three avocado seeds have not sprout anything yet, despite it being almost 5 weeks already. There has not been any changes at all to the seed, so I'm not sure what I can do @__@

These are a fun novelty and make starting an avocado seed easy. I wish they were not this expensive as they are only made from plastic. I have 6 boats. It's easier than the old toothpick trick. I've grown several plants and also sold several for $20 so I've paid for my boats. My only comment is that in the description it says you have to wait till it is a certain height with leaves before you plant it. That is not the case, as soon as you have roots you can plant it in the soil with the seed a bit above soil level and it will continue to grow. Make sure you peel the skin off the avocado seed before starting it in the boat. They like bright light and quite a bit of water once they are planted in soil They also need to be transplanted into bigger pots frequently. They don't have compact roots, just long ones. Don't ever expect to reap avocados from these as it will take over 5-10 years if they ever do produce fruit. It is mostly just for the fun and novelty and for us crazy plant people it provides an itneresting houseplant. Happy Growing.

I saw this product and had to try it out! It is so easy to use! I have had two trees grow from using the product and I think I would have even more but it's that the other seed I used did not germinate.I found the best seeds are the ones that have started already sprouting in the avocado. The boats allow for the avocado to sit in the water and are far less work than the toothpick and water method.I simply put the avocado in, by a window, and off it went! It was amazing to see the roots start growing and the stem sprouting! Every day the AvoSeedo helped it to grow and it look very little worried for me. The AvoSeedo also comes with a little toothpick flags to write on for each boat which adds to its charm that they actually look like boats floating.I would definitely buy these again and have shared with many people how much I love them!
