Howdy! The color chart is correct, all across the board. I use mine primarily with flexy fountain and dip pens, and in places where the ink goes on lightly, it is a lovely, rich lavender. But if I use it with my glass pens or a simple stiff fountain, it is fairly dark (dark purple; NOT black). One of the greatest characteristics of this ink is its shimmer/sheen. There's a beautiful sheen on the ink when it goes on heavy and dries. This is a really nice ink. R&K makes my favorites, and I'd use them even at 3 times the price. Hope that helps. Write on!
