This vac sucks - he get it
I love vacuums in general so please excuse my dorkiness..I love the Dyson Ball and a Miele C3 I use at home but I often think: I would rather be using the Makita, which I use exclusively for work.CONS- Batt operation has acceptable power with a light mess. So If it's a bigger job, start looking for some available power outlets.(Cable is pretty long to it's no too much of a pain).- Disassembling (cleaning / replacing the bag) can be a bit confusing for the first time, you'll get the hang of it after one try. !!!Make sure you are outside and clear of any people and expensive looking things!!! the dust goes everywhere.- It's hard to tell how full the bag is without disassembling most of the unit.PROS - Battery only option is there but- what's the point?? May be helpful in a pinch. However, it will charge your batteries so it's not a complete loss.- The plug-in ability is where this vacuum gets to show off. (Eg. I was able to clear a 1250' buried 2" conduit is a matter of seconds. It's got the power.- The base unit does a great job staying upright. Other vacs will tip over but this one has a low center of gravity.- All of the attachments are very useful so hang on to those for dear life.- Variable speed control is huge when cleaning up at a project when the clients are home, to disrupt their day as little as possible- Most importantly- it devours anything (reasonable) you put it up against. When you get the seldom jam it's easy to spot the issue and fix the clog, especially with the thinner, longer tube.Hope this help!

AC/DC versatility
I enjoy using this vac every day. Low setting on AC power is a little stronger than HIGH setting on DC power, and the noise is linear with CFM regardless of mode. The duct engineering inside the housing and the deep 3 stage filtering makes this machine quiet relative to adjusted CFM. The fan impeller is made from strips of thin sharp steel stampings, very high quality with low mass, well balanced on quality bearings. It is a pricey sucker but there is nothing else like it for us Makita folks. I was exited to get one when it was released, and I’m glad I finally did. I would buy again.

I love them both but we if don't support our local ...
I did not purchase this unit at Amazon. Instead I elected to purchase it at the local hardware store in which I neglect because I buy so much stuff from Amazon. I love them both but we if don't support our local businesses they won't be around when we need them. Anyhow about this machine, I have 2 Makita VC4710 12-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum's and they are fantastic and worth the extra money. I thought it would be nice to have something similar on battery power for convenience. While purchasing my ADD kicked in and didn't read the 2nd line about performance on batteries. My bad! But it should read only picks up hair and ash or the like on batteries. Now that I am stuck with it due to my not reading I can only recommend buying the big brother as this one is not ready for prime time until Mikita figures out how to rev it up on batteries. If anyone has any idea what to do with this little blue elephant I am all ears.......... (since apparently I don't read!)

Worth every penny.
I've only had this for 5 or 6 weeks but I've used it every weekend and whenever I make it to my shop. Plenty of power, I tend to keep it on the lowest speed when I'm using it as a dust collector for the tools I attach it to. Its fairly quiet on low, small enough to move around with almost 0 effort. The filters work great. Keeps up with all my tools on low as well. No saw dust or chips on my floors anymore.

Can the seller contact me please? This item stopped working right after he return date closed. Will not turn on.l with batteries or chord. Sounds like it tries to then stops. Is there a reset?

Fantastic unit with power options that make sense.
This unit connects to many tools used in remodeling including the circular saw, multi tool, grinder, chop saw, hyde sanding heads, drywall saw etc. The CFM rating is fantastic and really works well with any dust that wasn't collected during the cut. All of this being said, the accessories for floor and crevice work without any problems. The bags are reusable and pretty durable. I'm shocked by how well it works.
