Works As Advertised!
The Lenovo P50 is my third Lenovo. I still have my T-430 and T-500. But, the P50 with a 1TB SSD allows me to quickly run Hyper-V VMs without attaching storage. The footprint is thesame size as my T500 so it fits in the same Victorinox backpack. I like having the number pad because it allows me to lock the Fn key for the top row, and still have keys availablefor volume controls. The fingerprint reader has been improved - I no longer need to swipe, but just place my finger on the reader. Swiping often required a few attempts before itworked. There is no DVD drive, but I no longer need one as I have digitized all my DVD content already and transferred all 250Gigs to the SSD drive.

Contruction quality is poor and so is Lenovo support (Lenovo NEVER AGAIN!!)
UPDATE: Unfortunately there have been many more problems with this machine since the initial review.I've had my Lenovo P50 for 3 years now and have had numerous problems with the construction and quality. DO NOT let the initial impression of the laptop construction fool you. They actually feel well constructed but with even light use they suffer inexplicable problems in a variety of areas. Below is the list of my problems so far...1) Left internal PC speaker stopped working (required sending it in to be repaired).2) Ethernet cable got stuck in the machine, was able to free it but ended up scuffing the finish.3) Left SHIFT key on the keyboard is not very sensitive, it does work but only with an unusual amount of pressure.4) Crack appeared in the palm rest (required sending it in to be repaired).5) Less than a year later another crack appeared in the palm rest (this time the machine is out of warranty). Apparently this is a problem many people have reported. It's simply not worth dealing with again unless the crack gets so bad part of the palm rest breaks off.6) Multiple bad pixels on the display (machine is out of warranty). This laptop gets some moderate use but it is not a daily work machine. I've had countless Dell computers that have not had nearly the amount of issues this one Lenovo machine has had. In fact, all the issues I've ever had with Dell do not amount to the issues I've had with this machine and I have Dell laptops that still work that are 10+ years old!I WILL NEVER buy another Lenovo machine again. Very low opinion of the brand and the support.ORIGINAL REVIEW:BEWARE of the Ethernet port. I had a plug get stuck in it and almost broke the port trying to get the plug out. The laptop has been great but this flaw was so annoying it really outweighs most of the good things about this laptop. If you buy one PLUG AN ETHERNET CABLE IN IT QUICK and if it doesn't come out return it. This laptop is still under warranty and I am planning to send it in, hard to say what the quality of the repair will be but this is the FIRST TIME that I've had to send a laptop in for repair and I've had a couple dozen laptops over the years between work and personal.

Its big and powerful. An overall solid buy for the balance of resources, a good value.
I purchased this desktop replacement computer to have a mobile station for running software demonstrations in virtual and pseudo-environments. The machine is a workhorse. Admittedly, larger than most notebooks/laptops, although the dimensions are noted clearly in the sellers description. My experience with the overall performance have been very positive. If I had to cite a couple of minor negatives they would be this; its large, and if you add NVMe, which you should, the small plastic trays need to be purchased separately. Other than those small (picky) items, I have been very satisfied with this purchase and would suggest it to a friend.

Has no CDROM and no SD port.
The images on display looks dull and fuzzy. The mouse scrolling default setting is very annoying. If you can't ship it with the proper scrolling defaults could you at least include instructions on how to change the scrolling default. There is no CDROM to play dvd or music, or install games,There is no SD port. If I could return it today I would. This is just an over sized heavy tablet.I should I have read the fine print better... I thought Laptops just came with those things.
