Filmed during the band's genuinely electrifying gig in Katowice, Poland, on the 9th of April, 2015, at which they performed their brilliant latest album Hyperdrive nearly in its entirety, the DVD showcases Knight Area's absolute mastery of the prog aesthetic, their impressive musicianship, sensitivity, and style. The release also features interviews with Mark Smit, Gerben Klazinga, Mark Bogert, and Pieter van Hoorn, a photo gallery and other extras, as well as an audio CD version of the material! Knight Area is a Dutch progressive rock band which was formed in 2004 by brothers Joop and Gerben Klazinga. The band play rock music, with roots in symphonic and neo-progressive rock. The music blends a variety of styles using very melodic keyboards and guitars and the dynamic songs vary from ballads to more rock and metal kind of music. In October 2014, the band released their fifth studio album Hyperdrive. The album was mixed by Joost van den Broek (After Forever, Ayreon, Star One) and Arjen Anthony Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One) contributed to the album by playing guitar on one track. In April 2015, the band played in Poland for the first time as support for Arena (UK). One of the shows was recorded by Metal Mind Productions.

this is still very good music and is well-performed
To contradict the previous absurd review, this is a very high quality and entertaining live performance. Whether you prefer the earlier more progressive incarnation of this band or the current more metal-influenced sound, this is still very good music and is well-performed. If you want flash pots or flying monkeys or dancing girls or optic nerve blinding lasers, then you would probably want to move on. If you have been to any contemporary progressive or progressive metal performance, think ProgPower USA or any club or small theater venue, then you will be right at home here. Could they have used a video backdrop, perhaps...but for a one-off performance or short tour, it's unlikely that a band like Knight Area could or would or even should focus on visuals short of the band members themselves and proper lighting. It's all about the music folks, obviously, so lets focus on reality and give credit were credit is due. This is really, really good...believe me.

Die Jungs aus den Niederlanden zelebrieren auf dieser Scheibe, das, wofür sie stehen: Neoprog.Und das gelingt ihnen meines Erachtens überzeugend: klar werden immer wieder riesige Keyboardwände aufgebaut, aber bevor der Kleister überhand nimmt wird es immer wieder rockig, kommt mit der Gitarre eine härtere Note ins Spiel. Genau diese Mischung gefällt mir sehr. Das Ganze wird dann zusammengehalten durch die sehr gute Stimme von Mark Smit. Ich kann nicht beurteilen, was nachträglich im Studio reingemixt wurde, aber auf jeden Fall passt das Ergebnis.Der Zuhörer merkt am Ende jeden Stückes durch den Beifall, dass es sich um eine Live-Aufnahme handelt; nur großartig Liveatmosphäre kommt jedoch nicht aus den Boxen.Insgesamt eine gelungene Sache: CD reinschieben, keine riesigen Erwartungen hegen und sich wohlfühlen.

si vous aimez ce groupe achetez le concert avec une tres belle image et un bon son pour les récompenser. Meme si la salle est petite je prends un réel plaisir a chaque visualisation et on voit qu'ils s'eclatent sur scene. Mon seul regret est que le concert ne dure que 1h17, dommage j'aurais aimé en voir plus. Du bonheur tout simplement, foncez l'acheter vous ne serez pas déçu, foi d(un grand amateur de rock progressif.
