Anti-wrap feature works very well but is costly.
I purchased two flag poles recently. This is one of them. It is made from a single piece of wood with a special plastic piping sleeve which is said to be anti-wrapping. The anti-wrapping feature seems to work very well as the flag on this pole has never wrapped around the pole. The flag on the other pole has wrapped around the pole several times but has unwrapped itself all but one time. I hang both flag poles on opposite sides of the same tree with the mounts about 10 feet above ground level and the poles installed at the 45 degree angle pointing upwards not horizontally. I think the anti-wrap feature is very good and preferable; however, the extra cost is quite high. I managed to buy the second pole on sale and saved a lot of money doing so. That second pole is a two-part pole with a central metal fastener.

Poor quality control
This flag pole arrived today, damaged. The pole was split down the middle lengthwise, where a screw holds an important part in place. Surely quality control would have noticed this very large split in the wood, as well as the varnish which had peeled back due to that split. I've just placed an order for a metal flag pole from Amazon rather than taking a chance and re-ordering this wooden one. The metal one is more expensive but hopefully it's also more durable.

Great Flag Pole
Turns out I needed to learn how to read as I needed a bottom clip for my flag as well. On the plus had a couple holiday flags hanging around that worked for this pole. Very durable and has held up in all sorts of weather.Would recommend.

Check on arrival but it's good
Product arrived missing one of the clips to attach the flag. Did not discover this until Christmas morning when my husband opened it as a gift. Luckily my FIL is handy and was able to fix without my having to send it back.Definitely recommend you open immediately to ensure it's intact. Otherwise, it is what it promised.

Should have bought a metal one.
The pole does what it supposed to do but mine cracked at the end where there is a wooden ball. I used some glue and duct tape to repair it but next time I'll buy a metal pole that costs a little more.
