Marineland (Aquaria) AMLMSPS100 100 In-Sump Protein Skimmer for Aquarium

Can't say much of anything good because I received a broken skimmer and had the choice to either wait until end of the month for a replacement or get my money back. I decided on my money back and go through another seller.Knob was so tight you could not adjust the skimmer and all it did was foam up and spill out.Update: April 2017 tried buying another one because they are so cheap now and I received a working one this time.I owed a few of these about 4 years ago and I was satisfied with them this unit seems to have fixed the adjustable knob to move better and the top lid isn't on as tight.Still can be a pain to unscrew the cup but it not that big of a deal for me these units can do a nice dry skim.This is the 100 model as advertised also.

I’ve had a saltwater tank off and on for about 10 years. This is my second tank and second skimmer (my other was a pricier brand) and I wish I purchased this one last time and saved some money! As they said it takes a good 5 days to start collecting which is about what it took. I was skeptical but this thing is collecting some serious waste from the water. Once it was dialed in it had about 1/2 an in of waste in a day. Save yourself some money and buy this unit! It been 2 weeks I can only hope it lasts a while.

I really don’t know why the reviews are not better on this skimmer. It’s slim design alone is enough to give it 3 stars. The cup comes apart really easy despite other reviews. Plain and simple don’t over tighten the nut and you won’t hve a problem. I have only had the skimmer on for about 8 hours and it’s already collecting scum. It’s also so quiet you cannot hear it working. Really the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the fact that it didn’t sit exactly flushing the bottom. However it’s not anything to worry about considering it’s maybe a 16th of an inch. It also came with a parts list for replacement parts. Overall great skimmer with an awesome price!

This skimmer is great for the price. I ran it for a couple days without getting any foam then I did the modification where you shave down the 4 nubs on the collection cup gasket (took 5 minutes). 3 hours after that, I was getting dark skimmate in the cup. It broke-in in under 3 days.It is sensitive to sump level but i haven't found that to be a problem because i keep my sump relatively constant.There are a lot of bad reviews for this product...so maybe I just got lucky. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because you will have to do the mod to get it to work well. I would definately recommend this to anyone looking for a budget skimmer.

Excellent Skimmer and easy to use. Fits perfectly in my sump and works extremely well. Give it a few days to stabilize and then it just works really good and is very compact. The only negative is that it is not easy to get the cup off because it has a threaded knob that holds it on.

This is a great skimmer for the money! Yes it takes a few days to dial in but once its working it works better then my high end skimmer! Pro's: works great, great value, small footprint, easy to set up. easy to clean. Con's: no drain tube.I'm running it on a 6 tank 100 gallon Clownfish breeding setup and it is handling the load.

Bought the pump worked fine for about 3 months and then the the magnet on the impeller cracked in 3 places no replacement parts and now a third party sells the same product for about $300 when I bought it for about $60
